*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Surely everyone who has pre ordered a Desire on Vodafone will get it this week, they can't make us wait any longer?

Meh, vent over!

I would be ok if they let me keep BIS untill it comes ARGH!!!

As long as they get mine to me and use my pac before 23rd may to transfer the number I wont be too unhappy.

Tons of conflicting advice on this - Should the battery be left to fully drain (till dead) a few times or is it just topping up frequently? I can't tell what is the correct answer, and half of the sites I have read say one thing and the other say something else!! Anyone?

Do not let it fully drain.
Li-Ion batteries are maintained best by topping up regularly (no memory affect so this isn't a problem).
Bad things happen when batteries fully drain though this won't be an issue as the phone will be off long before the battery is properly dead.

how can i force my desire to use G2 only? to save battery, my G1 can do this

Yes Settings > Wireless / Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > GSM Only.

Then something very wrong?

It is first time charging my desire so maybe that why ?

Mine takes a few hours to charge too, only had it a day though.

AmoLED might have it's downsides (the pink hue in some greys (view the HTC website for example) due to the technology it employs but damn it gets blacks blacker than the balckiest of phone displays :p

This may seem like a silly question but how to you chnage the keyboard to show pounds innstead of dollars? Keyboard language is english, and cant find anything else to change in the settings.

Orange Branded Desire.

Its still there, hit the 12# button the the 1/2 button and its there. I guess it's because its a US keyboard

It's a different method of text input. It's been developed by the guys who did T9. Basically, you swipe your finger from letter to letter and it predicts/enters the word you swiped. There are quite a few videos on YouTube which explain it pretty well :)

Anyone had a callback from these Vodafoneukdeals bunch yet? I contacted them and got a reference number last Wednesday but I've still not heard anything bar an email last week saying I was on the HTC Desire callback list - before they announced the deals had expired.

If they are not going to bother phoning or are just going to offer crap deals then this is holding up me exploring other options for getting a Desire.
