For everyone trying to tweak their battery life, have a look at the graph below. It's pretty interesting to see the differences between the 3G and 2G radios when idle, which looks negligible.

Hi all,

I have two very annoying issues with my phone.

Firstly, the home and menu buttons randomly stop working every now and then. The buttons light up but I can't get to the home screen or invoke the menu within an application or long press to bring up the keypad.

Secondly, sometimes the messaging icon has a unread notification on it (green circle with numbers on) when I've definitely read all my messages.

Anyone else have the same issues?
 
Do you have read receipts etc on? they would also show up IIRC?

Also I found charging via mains/car charge takes 25~ mins to do 15% whereas connected via device USB (PC/TV/Wii or whatever else) it takes a lot longer.

Could easily charge to full in under 2 hours using mains powered SB charging or car charging.

If you pass the credit check (and you'd need the worlds worst credit to fail it) then you'll probably find a dispatch notice in "my messages" and via email on Wednesday at some point. They don't seem to update until that point for some reason, mine was stuck on "processing" until the day the phone was posted.

Vodafone do it best, you sign up for a contract online, any time of day and you get an email back shortly after telling you your "credit check went smoothly".

Probably due to the low amperage or something pumped out by USB ports?
 
Is there any way I could change the home page on the main desktop. I dont like the phone button on the screen as I phone random people accidentally lol

I have this problem also, i use an app called sms popup which i think may cause the problem. are you using this app?
 
My upgrade date came up today so just checked and t-mobile want £60 for the Desire on my current £25pm contract.
I've just called them and they seem unable to offer the handset free on anything but a £30 or 24 month contract.
I've told them I'm leaving and explained the dialaphone deal but unless they call me back with some kind of deal I'll be getting that. Time will tell.

Same when I rang o2. They dont offer people anything these days to remain. It pays to change providers everything the contract runs out.

I don't use any third party applications for messaging, I tried handcent but didn't like it. This was about two, maybe three weeks ago though and installed it within five minutes.

Don't have any read receipts on or anything.

So no one have the home and menu key issue, i.e. they stop working randomly?

Might email HTC about the issues and see what they say.

Yep you can use the Nexus One launcher but I have noticed some bugs with it like when you apply a wallpaper via the N1 launcher it won't apply - probably because the Sense launcher is still running in the background perhaps?

I will continue to have a play later but first I need to nip to CPW to get this pinker swapped!

Aye most likely the case!

Good to know though that it charges quite fast(ish).
 
I'm struggling to beat the Dialaphone deal on Orange for £21.67pm on 18 months (redemption deal). That has 500mb and unlimited texts.

Yes i keep getting this, is rather annoying me :(

Sometimes deleting the item and re-adding fixed but if i don't do anything it seems to go when I've received and read the next text
