*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Same here. I've held off ordering as I wanted it tomorrow in a very impatient and impulisive "must buy now" way!
I'll take a little longer to choose now so I suppose it's for the best.
That's what I've done for now, might check back tomorrow tho as a lot of places seem to be getting stock tomorrow.

Maybe I should go for the t-mobile £25/m 18month contract  higher data then but only 300texts (site says stock expected tomorrow)

Vodafoneukfails got back to me.

Two offers: 20 quid for the phone, £30 pm, 600 minutes, unlimited texts and net for 18months or the same deal for £25 a month but 70 quid for the phone and 300 minutes.

Pretty crap compared to what they offered everyone else. Seems like a huge anti climax.

Would you think retentions can beat this?

Did they say anything about if they actually had stock?

Anyone had one as an upgrade on Orange? Tempted to get one of these when I'm eligible for upgrade in June, they'll probably want £100 for the phone or something but tbh I'm on a pretty decent tariff atm (£20/mo for 600 mins, unlimited text and web) and it'd be nice to keep that :)

Do Orange still charge for delivery reports, out of interest?

just got off the phone to dialaphone. He assures me they have stock (he even went to check with someone else). 3-5 delivery as standard.

my order is showing delivery date as the 29th and processed

Just flash it beep with the generic Desire ROM and buy an unbranded back cover. It will then be an unbranded phone but still locked to orange and also the box isn't as nice as the proper HTC box, looks slick sat on my "cool stuff" shelf!

As I said earlier, I think flashing it is unnecessarily risky atm - not through any risk of bricking it but rather not being able to get back to the Orange ROM if you have a warranty issue.

When an Orange ROM becomes available with which you can "flash back", it becomes far less of an issue :)

Can but try. If not then £25 a month isn't a bad deal for the Desire if 300mins is enough for you - try hammering them down on the £70 phone cost though :)

Anyone know if this will work on the 3G bands in the USA? I guess not since USA carriers use 850MHz (AT&T) or 1700MHz(T-Mobile USA) for 3G.

Unlike what was posted earlier I can confirm, and prove, that it will work on T-Mobiles USA 3G bands.

T-Mob USA uses the same GSM, 2G and 3G bands as all our network providers, so it does in fact work in the states. This applies to any phone that works on GSM, 2G and 3G here. Look at the Nexus One. Available on T-Mob USA or sim free for use in Europe or anywhere else using GSM networks with the correct 3G band (citation www.google.com/phone) I took my Nexus over there 3 weeks back, put a T-Mob USA pay and go sim card in there and off I went, 3G working flawlessly.

It will also function on AT&T for GSM calls and 2G data, but not 3G because, as you pointed out, they use a different 3G band to us.

Hope that answers you question :)
