what would this country be like if .....

So you don't agree that 'life's luxuries' are not a human right, even for a total slob?

You don't agree that it's impractical and impossible to live in a society where everyone deserves a plasma TV for their council living room, even if they can't be bothered to get off the sofa?

You don't agree that it's unfair for someone working hard as p.a., secretary, or retail store supervisor on £8 p.h. suddenly finding themselves on the same wage as someone that has never worked a day in their lives, and that has been dragged from the settee to go and clean office buildings by a £2 rise in the minimum wage?

No use talking to liberal lefty - everything must be fair in life for them, when it will never be.

Then you have a very warped view on what is fair and reasonable, and your parents obviously led a similar lifestyle for you to think that's ok.

There is no need for personal condescending comments, thankyou, everyone is entitled to an opinion, unless thats now changed.

I dont believe it's warped to think of everybody as equal, what is warped is how people treat people.

Probably create new industry in the "green sector" but their promises are completely unrealistic.

Left wing politics are the way forward though, which is why I'm voting lib dems.

Conservatives basically want to shaft poor people and everyone who doesn't work in some boring office job/ banking.

wait, Hyper you believe a "luxury" is a right, despite it having the moniker luxury?

You have to work at life to be succesful/have the things we desire - as has been mentioned, sacrifice now, for a better future - be that through education or working minimum wage until you progess and earn more through diligence and hard work.

EDIT: But as it turns out i'm wrong, you dont need to work for these things you just sit on your arse, we work hard and the state gives it to you.

I think your taking ''Luxury'' out of the context I meant, I meant it as in clothes, shoes, a drink in the local, a pack of cigs, I didn't mean Bentleys and private helicopters

a drink in the local and a pack of ciggies aren't exactly neccessaties (sp?)

Your an oxymoron

What you believe to be fair is actually grossly unfair

LOL Fail!!!

lol, I will finish with saying, enjoy your life, your here for a short time, not a long time, and I hope I have brought to your attention of how people are so unfair to other people.

We'd be forced to recycle everything, and anything that can't be used again will be banned.

Also, don't forget people would be composted instead of cremated or buried.

the point about the rise in minimum wage is an interesting one as in it would push the prices up on goods and effectively cancel itself out

i've always been interested in why prices rise and who were the first real manufacturers or suppliers to do this ie if they didn't then how it would have effected the value of money

the current petrol prices are a good example, they seem to rocket in front of every other price rise
