You need root tho :(

On the question of root.... Whats the benefits of root over the stock phone ?? Gimme some examples of what will be possible when its fully opened like htis guy is trying.

With a custom recovery you can image the entire phone via Nandroid or BART so restoring a state is as easy as clicking a few buttons. You can install apps like wireless tether and other apps that require super user access to the OS to do funky things, previous screenshotting, overclocking, system patching, radio updating and so on.

Well I'm rooted, was easy :)

First time I've ever used Linux and brand new to Android.

Will flash the AP2SD ROM tomorrow. :D

How much data are people using on 3g for their phones I just installed smart moniter Lite and it says 62 meg today, 12meg sent, the rest downloaded.

Borich

I personally used around 200 MB in one week when I had it in March from T-Mobile and that was downloading lots of apps, using Google Maps a few times and browsing various websites quite frequently.

I've just been linked to a Youtube vid were someone shows how to install paid apps for free via torrent download.

I know Google want to keep Android open, but that's a bit too open, no?

Would put developers off I'd have thought.

Bah. managed to scratch my screen today. :( Feeling an irrational anger towards the ebay retailer who's taken over a week to post my screen protector!

How do people scratch them so easily? The videos on youtube demonstrate how hard it is to scratch the glass screens.

Mine didn't take much to scratch, put it down the wrong way around on top on my keys, now there are two little scratches on my screen. You only really notice if you look for them but they're there. Shame but I suppose it's to be expected.
