To those looking to upgrade from G1's and Magic's your world just got more bearable last night - Cyans ported his 5.0.7 Nexus build to G1 and Magic. Yup, full 2.1 support :D

On a similar note Modaco seems to have been able to port 5.0.6 to the Desire - I'd recommend it, it unlocks more ram and rom and will stop all these "I've run out of space booo hiss" issues ;) For instance I've got 51 apps on my Nexus atm, and still have 120MB free phone storage :o

I'm tempted, I could sell the Desire as a sim free phone and get a N1 from the money made just for this kind of instant ROM update but I just know the moment I do Modaco will crack the Desire or HTC will announce the 720p update and 2.2 release or something else.

Well I think this is pretty bad on the lowest setting, just like yours Khaaan!

Should I go into the shop and rant till I get a replacement because yes its fine when it’s on full brightness or even half, but tbh I would like to run the brightness at 0 to get the best battery life, this is something I have always done on my previous phones in the past.

need help with the photo album/storage its doing my head in:(

if i bluetooth some pics it creates a 'bluetooth' folder but makes a new one each time..so 2nd time i've bluetoothed now got 2 folders..same with 'download' folders if i save photos from a text!
also if i 'favourite' a pic it goes into favourites album but stays in 'all photos' and the original folder so you have it 3 times!

obviously having 'all photos' and the original source gives it to you twice!

i tried managing it with astro but can only 'move' pic but doesn't ask you where to move it to.. also didn't seem to move the one i tried anywhere!

my old sony just put photos into months taken or view all photos so i thought this would be spot on on the desire.

Any apps that would sort them easier you can recommend?

Hi guys,

Quick question. How much room is there under the battery cover. I am looking to have a work sim and a personal sim that I swap between.

I have seen products that do this but they sit between the battery and the back cover. Hoping there is a bit of free space.

Also how long does the phone take to boot up and shut down?

hadn't realised panther was unlimited but will see how my allowances go..sounds like you'll get one ok unlike a lot of our fellow posters! i wasn't worried about the odd fiver or tenner a month but still paying less than o2 who i would have upgraded with eventually i think! Nice thing is walking (running!) home with it in your hand rather than waiting about for the courier/postman! good luck..

About 4 sec to shutdown and about 20 sec to boot.

Would check for you regarding the other question but I have no nails and its a bugger to get off for me!

Yea I wouldn't want to be removing the back cover often, it's not that elegant and I fear one day something may snap...
 
Anyone know if the ones bought off Vodafone from their website, are branded, with additional Vodafone software and other rubbish? or will it come all clean?

Also, without looking through the thread completely, can anyone give me the run down on this purple screen issue I have seen in the last few pages?

Vodafones Desires are not branded internally or externally and are unlocked.

The only things I have noticed is a "Vodafone" scene and the SIM Toolkit icon in programs thats it.

Some phones appear to have a pink look when the brightness is turned down as far as it will go.

Ya reckon this is the same? I checked it with my managers and one in the cpw (which was pinker) and it seems fine.

Sorry for asking so much, just want to compare it other owners.

LOL teaboy yours is fine...seriously look at khaans and leoncc's and you will see that theres are much more worse than yours.

Leoncc id take your back and get it replaced in all honesty...thats far too much pink.
