*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Just installed the Android keyboard with voice to text APK, keyboard feels a bit better for me but the voice to text is a gimmick or my accent is shocking lol, it picks it up though if I speak REALLY slowly like a robot.

Also really like the google voice search from the physical search key, so much faster!

Argghhh still waiting for my case from HK...the one that Khaaan got...i have a feeling that its probably got lost or some thieving scumbag at royal fail has nicked it.

Dont know if its even worth me filing a dispute against the seller tbh..its not like it cost an arm or leg.

How long has it been? Sometimes its took upto 15 days for stuff from HK to arrive for me!

Well my other half got one today, first one had a dead pixel and so has the second one! Not sure what to do, she isn't bothered too much but I'm not sure.

Opinions?

Is there a limit to the amount of times you can exchange you're phone within 28 days of purchase if its genuinely faulty?

Reason I'm asking this is my screen as you all know is very bad, Vodafone are picking it up on Wednesday and dropping a new one off but knowing my luck I will properly get another bad one!

Depends on the network really....i have a pink screen but i can live with it...i know tmobile only exchanged a phone of mine yrs ago once before they said that they would have to send it off for repair.

Does anyone's FM radio actually work?

I'm doing the correct thing by attaching my headphones as they act as a antenna but I can't seem to tune into anything.

I'm rooted but didn't try the radio before I did the root.

Just tried mine, it scanned a lot but all really bad quality, to much static from inside the house, think I will stick to internet radio!

my radio works fine fella...

also...i've just bluetoothed some music over from my old sony phone (which sounds a lot better than desire without headphones i have to say) and it recognised the artist but assigned a contact photo to all the different artists i sent... whats that about??!! :(

lol, the speaker on the Desire really gives me a headache, very tinny imo! I miss the speaker on my Bold it was very good.

I have some Goldring GX200 earphones but I lost one of the buds and its £7.95 for a new set which is ridiculous! =[

my headphones really show how the sound is lacking from the desire, and although the fm radio does tune with any headphones, reception isnt bad or good, and sound quality is nothing special, definitely not the best mp3 playing phone out there by far, bit disappointed by that tbh

I have been playing with my Desire all day, and loving it so far. I have two questions though:

1) I can't seem to sync recurring events from Google Calendar
2) How can I see how much space is left on the phone memory?

I quite like the look of that case, esp in brown - http://www.i-nique.com/detail.asp/cn=2/c=521/sku=5055205269412

For camera - I believe you just fold the case over at a point below the camera lens to expose the camera when you want to take a pic. If so then thats quite good as it will protect the lens ffrom dirt etc.... See here - http://images.mobilefun.co.uk/graphics/misc/24293-2.jpg Notice the ability to "fold the case over about 1/3 of the way down ??

Can you post your thoughts on this case when it arrives please ??

Case was ordered on Thursday & Came Friday Morning, I have to say it looks great on the phone, a very very snug fit to get it in but I would rather have that than have it slip around.

+ points
It looks great, the saddleback version I got really does look smart. Everyone who has seen it so far loves it.

holds the phone very well.

side buttons & headphone jack can be got to for when listening to music
with the case closed.

It feels like it will take a fair amount of abuse.

The Camera lens is covered, it's a bit of a plus & a negative there though.

It is a bit bulky in the pocket, I'd guesstimate when closed it is about 22/23mm thick.

you have to unclip the case to charge/sync, I don't mean remove the phone, just the little flap at the bottom.

Although you can fold the back of the case down to use the camera ( I never knew this till Richie pointed it out) it isn't that great to hold like this, a little bit of a faff as the back cover is hardly soft & not very easy to fold.

I'm being very picky to find the negatives, I really like the case & feel far better now that it is in there than when it was just in my pocket. Just as a side note, the box came with a "G1" sticker on the side of it & the Belt clip is missing........as it was Friday I have yet to hear back from Mobilefun about that.

After a few days use I'm pretty happy, if forced to give a score I would say 8 out of 10. I like the fact that the Camera lens is covered but I would also have liked the back to fold a bit better. I would also have liked there to have been a hole in the clip for charging.

Sorry for rambling on, it's Sunday & I'm bored. Hope this helps anyone looking for a good strong case who doesnt use their camera too much

Use the "settings" prog, it tells you how much you have left.

Basically on the bottom of the screen press the little up arrow & select settings from there.

Don't know about the google calendar thing though.

As far as sound.......mine sounds great when using my DR50's, as good as my nano anyway.
