*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Shame T-mobile stores can't do a decent deal on an 18 month contract. They want £380 for the phone on anything less than a £35/24m contract! :(

Yeah I found that too, but for 24 months they did me £25 a month, 600 mins 500 texts, unlimited internet, phone for £25 and free 8gb card

You can pick up a Desire on an 18 month contract with T-Mobile, 300 Minutes + 300 Texts + Unlimited Mobile Web for £25 from mobilephonesdirect. I've read that folks purchasing T-Mobile via a reseller can get the usual 3GB limit by calling them up, the 3GB limit apparently applies to all Android phones.

I dont understand the needing of wireless tethering,it'll drainthe battery very quickly, you'll be using usb cable to charge up all the time so might as well leave the phone unrooted and use pdanet

That's exactly what I've done, but they don't have any stock until at least Monday :(

Typical, I'm still looking around for a deal on a Desire, based on the 3GB usage limit and the idea of the flexible boosters, particularly the European one really appeal as I travel to Europe a lot - I'm thinking of going with this deal. Has anyone used mobilephonesdirect? are they reputable?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the Vodafone twitter/web team, it's only been 7 days now

Interesting: when I called T Mobile up to pass on my PAC, she gave me a run down of my minutes, and when I explicitly asked about the FUP she said that it was 1Gb (and that she's never seen anybody go over that yet :p). She didn't know I had an Android phone.

If I go over the 1Gb and get a phone call, should I ask why I don't have a 3Gb FUP?

Edit: Just read above post: I used MPD and they were great. I was initially annoyed that handsets wouldn't be in until early May, then 2 days later it arrived (10 days ago).

Christ the headphones that come with it sound terrible.

Anyone know of any headphones that are good for music but retain the microphone and play/next/previous music controls for the htc?

If only they just did the remote with a jack in it for me to stick my Headphones in as they have a short cable + extender :(

MPD activate the contract on a Nokia phone. Call T-mobile and tell them you have a Desire and they will give you the proper 3GB and that will also free up your booster to use elsewhere.

My MPD order is now "Pending Stock" I called them and asked why their site says it's in stock for next day delivery and they said there was an "error" that is preventing them from editing it, yea right, hate companies who lie, but hey it's cheap!

I know this is the Desire thread, but now the Desire has been out for about a month, given the choice of the N1 or the Desire which would you go for and why?

Having used both I would say Nexus if your into custom roms etc and really want the latest android updates. If not then the Desire, either way you will be happy as they are both great phones

+1 for that

So long as you get the Desire on a proper network (I.e. NOT Orange) you'll get better customer service, if only because its face to face :)

Sim free there is about £20 in it (The Nexus being fractionally more expensive). Check the exchange rates to be sure. (Sim free Nexus's all come from the good ol' USA) The total cost is $558.65 delivered plus 17.5% import tax = $656.42 all in.

If you pick the Nexus the site is google.com/phone and when you proceed to the checkout Google will add a UK charger for $30 :o Remove it and pick one up here from Amazon for £5 delivered.

Yeah as you say there is only £20 in it or so.

I like the fact I could put a desire rom on the N1, but with the amount of BB we have at work that suffer from trackball issues does put me off slightly

Just got the Vodafone twitter deal for £20x15 £30x3, so now I have 2 desires, that's dedication I tells you. Couldn't pass up such a cheap offer as I can sell the phone and essentially get an 18 month contract for ~ £60

Gotta get rid of one now haha!
