*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

If you get it on t-mobile from a third party site you'll probably put on web 'n' walk with limits your download speed and the data is only 1gb. Ringing t-mobile and telling them that you have an android phone that requires an always on data connection should see you put on the web 'n' walk plus free of charge which increased the speed 5 fold for me and you get the increased 3gb limit.

Thanks for that. I think I might take the plunge on one of Beepys £20/month offers.

Starting to get a bit angry now. Someone just posted on the voda forum saying he ordered on 25th April which was 2 days after myself and his has been dispatched yet im still left waiting.

I've heard nothing either yet the guy on the phone said they have free stock and the 'stock update' thread on the Vodafone Eforum says the phone is in stock for new connections and new upgrades now

They may have not been able to process them all in 1 day so if I dont hear anything tomorrow I will be on the phone. Surely they would be doing it in order that the orders came in so people waiting the longest should be processed first. From what that other guy said it doesnt appear to be happening that way.

I asked mobiles.co.uk to deliver by Royal Mail but they texted to say that due to 'unforeseen circumstances' they were having to use DHL.

Of course I wasn't in. The missus is in some of tomorrow so hopefully will get it then. If we miss it it's a 10 mile round trip for the pick up.

I officially hate every courier that isn't Royal Mail...

No - I hate couriers because a few places (including mobiles.co.uk) specify delivery to home addresses. If I can get delivery to work it's not an issue. It's when you miss the second drop and have to go parcel fetching that it gets annoying.

Every other courier apart from Royal Mail (and direct partners) requires at least a 10 mile round trip from me instead of just going to the local RM depot that's within walking distance.

How is that the couriers fault though, just seems weird. 10 mile round trip is hardly far is it.

It's relative. 10 miles is a lot further and more inconvenient than half a mile. Plus DHL depot is in the opposite direction from where I work so that means taking a chunk out of my saturday to go and fetch it.

Surely most people have the same sort of problem? Royal Mail pick up points are all over the place. There are 3 within a 10 minute drive of me. Most couriers have maybe one depot a city and if you don't live near one you're screwed. That's poor service IMO.

Anyway - not to blame DHL. I selected the Royal Mail Special Delivery Option for a reason. I suspect DHL were operating over the bank holiday so they were given the delivery.

Should count myself lucky I suppose. At least I know a courier has my phone and it's been sent out. Much better than the supply problems some of you are facing.

Is it possible to take a contract out (say this week) and when my current contract ends (around 2 months time) get the PAC and transfer the number to the new contract?

I'm looking to get this phone but can't upgrade till 20th May. :( If I can't get a good deal with Vodafone I have to wait another 50 days before my contract ends.

Cheers.

T-mobile will let you do that, not sure if Vodafone or Orange will though, best to check first.
