The old dear on ours was insanely persistant until I decked her, took her a good 10 mins to get up, by which time she'd missed a good 4 or 5 people coming in after me, gave her a kick on the way out as well just incase she wanted to know who I voted for.

Because of the tories, my grandad lost his job and in turn his house. With a wife and 4 kids still at home, at the time you can imagine how many problems followed on from this.
The tories destroyed all real industry in this country and now we're known as a "service nation" full of crappy offices.

Everyone lies, some people lie more than others, and some people are good liars, they don't use the same lie formula over and over again.

Every time he talks about the NHS he plays the dead son card. Brown on the other hand has never played the dead kid card.
Clegg doesn't have any dead kids fortunately.

We showed ours to a nice chap outside our polling station. Part if me slightly irked I didn't think about it but most of me doesn't really care. Any post that is spam/unsolicitied/bills [:p] etc are filed away in our shredder and archived in the big blue paper bin outside. Takes all of 2 minutes and you all know you love using shredders...

Those numbers that aren't on their list will get phone calls asking them to vote and if they can't get there to vote, ie no transport, then they offer lifts to the polling station......My wife worked for the council and got roped in to doing the desk job in the polling station a few years ago.....she said that was what they do as we tendered our numbers to said muppets.
 
After casting our votes we are asked by two bored looking chaps for our polling card numbers for some list that I never even thought twice about until this thread, so next time we will get more party junk in our letterbox... great lol!

The 2 on the door when I went were occupied with other people so I just nipped past without saying a word! :cool: . There were other people actually QUEUEING to give these guys on the door their number, made me chuckle to myself.
 
mmmm, social engineering in action.

I find it funny that everyone here is so quick to take the proverbial out of people who fall for phishing scams etc but fall for it so quickly in real life.

Because information has a value associated with it. You are having that information YOU PERSONALLY OWN, which obviously has a value (to these people) taken from you under the false insinuation you are required to give it up to them for absolutely 100% free, in order to cast your vote.

I think the words 'slight rip-off' are justifiable ..
