It's not really about Clegg, it's (I hope, assuming Clegg sticks to his guns) whether Cameron and the Tory party are willing to accept electoral reform, if they can't, then they only have themselves to blame if the LD's decide to go elsewhere

Yeah, do you (and others of course), think they will accept it?

No idea :) Obviously I think they should given that a number of polls have showed majority support even among Tory voters, will be interesting though to see how things pan out.

I don't think Cameron's proposal of an 'all-party committee' is worth anything, from what I recall a similar thing occured in '98 when AV+ was proposed and the incumbent Labour government simply ignored it.

If Clegg has remotely anything about him, he'll choose Cameron.

You mean to drop his and his partys MAJOR thing they have been banging on about the entire campaign?

That would show him to be a spineless Gimp IMO and nothing but a Judas to his party and its members and supporters.

Thats because he IS a spineless gimp :p

I really can't see Clegg taking Camerons offer as it stands, it just doesn't go far enough with electoral reform.
In the end, I do think they'll go into partnership together but I think there'll be some major cabinet positions (but Vince won't be getting the Chancellor job, this is certain).

What do people think of Hague? I really like his style, think he comes across as very competent and knows what he's on about.

Nobody got elected. This isn't about one party or another, this is about the fact that our Parliament is corrupt and doesn't represent the voting public at all.

Which people had the chance to change by voting Lib Dem. There was no swing to the Lib Dems, they even lost seats. Maybe the taste for electoral reform isn't as strong as you would like?

I like the idea of PR, but unfortunately it tends to lead to a somewhat less democratic situation rather than a more democratic situation. Deals, as they are now in fact, will get made behind closed doors and it will not really be the people that decide but the politicians.

It might be workable if they had to state up front prior to an election whom they would, and would not, form a coalition with.
