Liberal Democrats get 6.6m votes and 53 seats, New Labour get 8.4m votes and 252 seats, our voting system is broken.
. . . and it aint gonna get fixed any time soon if the Tories have their way. Join the Liberal Democrats, write to your MP to demand some meaningful form of electoral reform and get active - YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE!

The rules are the same for all parties. I don't see the Lib Dems arguement here. Every party has the same opportunity to win any seat, if Lib Dems can't win them, then so be it.

This Parliament does not represent us. We demand fair votes now. There must never again be an election under this broken system.

This is a coalition of many reformist pressure groups organizing demonstrations throughout the country tomorrow, in many major cities. If there isn't one near you then you can add it yourself. Wear purple and come into the streets to push for a reform of parliament.

You have no excuses*.

*unless you're at work.

The argument is plain as day. FPTP and the government it subsequently results in does not reflect the number of votes a party receives, due to differences in sizes of constituencies. Therefore the majority view of the country is not represented.

Look up rotten boroughs.

I think if there is another election in october/november, which is fairly likely, it would be a way to rectify the situation of people that were turned away.

It's not the sizes of constituencies really, it's simply that with 3 major competing parties, FPTP is always going to be an issue when individual seats can be won with c. 35% of the vote with the majority not voting for the elected MP

You’re going to celebrating all weekend. :D

I am delighted she is out on her arse sim.

The worst Home Secretary this country has had, happy to trample over civil liberties ( yes I actually do give a damn about people's rights ), took her less than 6 months to alienate the entire police force with her shockingly unfair pay deal that excluded English and Welsh police officers, house flipper extraordinaire and claimed 69p for a bath plug.

Icing on the cake ? Porn film claimed on expenses which led to her resignation.

The best 10 pounds of taxpayer's money ever spent you might say.
