A Lib Dem/Lab coalition would represent (if it was a fair coalition - another matter entirely) a larger majority of the public than a Conservative minority government. Thus, they would have more of a moral right to govern.

You know what's funny?
I was watching Bloomberg I think the other day, and it had some American political correspondents and pundits saying how they preferred the current UK system to what they have in USA (including senate, congress and president)

Is your constituency Thirsk & Malton? If so it is because a candidate died just prior to the election so they delayed the vote in that area until a new one could be found. (UKIP I think it was).
 
Why is Nick Clegg getting all the hatred, he's head of his party but he's not an authoritarian ruler over it (neither is Cameron over the Conservatives), if his party won't go with the deal he wants to make, there's not a lot he can do about it.

I certainly feel no hatred towards Clegg or the Lib Dems. They are trying their best to get what they want out of the deals. I feel they are working in their own best interests rather than the countries, I also feel that their policies are bonkers in some parts but I certainly don't hate them. I do however feel that this highlights one of the main problems with some PR systems in that it gives the main party with the least votes the most power, which is somewhat undemocratic. This can solved but none of the parties have any real desire to do that.
 
I think my mum summed it up well this morning:

"Who does this twerp Clegg thinks he is, holding the country to ransom? The Queen should tell him to bugger off."
