I think Brown's made the right decision to leave politics altogether. He's endured enough vitriol in his time, so there's no need to prolong it. I wish him the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do now. Being a PM is obviously never easy.

Well assuming we limit ourselves to modern history,

Chamberlain has to be a good bet

Eden's only legacy was a disastrous contrived war

If you want to look at the state of the country at beginning and end, Major would have to get a look in (his fundamental decency, much like Brown's, aside)
 
The Conservative sources for Skynews have just said that the Tories and Libdems have agreed to a formal full coalition Government with members of both parties in the Cabinet.

That will be fun, I'm sure. I think that having Cameron and Clegg might be ok, as long as the excesses of both are diluted and not magnified by the partnership.

On the upside, no more Lord Mandelson running the country by default....if ever there was a more odious man, I never met him.

Same here. I feel sorry for him as a person, not as a politician though. He was faced with an impossible task from where Bliar left off. Daily life must have had immense pressures for him, unless he really didn't give two hoots.

As an aside, I noticed the old Jag too. I was talking to the wife about it, she was just '?????'. I sometimes forget she doesn't frequent the OcUK motors forum. :D

I'd add Maggie to that list. She was fine in the beginning but I honestly beleive she went mental and overstayed her welcome.
