I just finished it, and I really enjoyed the game. I thought the story was good and I liked the TV style episodes. I never actually followed any of the hype about this game so I took it for what it was and without expectations. If i was to score it, I'd give it 8.5/10 and a little higher for the LE packaging.
Roll on some DLC for it
Same here, I am just hitting Chapter 5 and I am enjoying it and could go as far as saying its one of the best SP story lines I have played for a while. I didnt really follow anything about it, I knew it was there and knew it was coming but never really read too much into it.
I have a feeling the DLC when it comes is going to be ace!

Not as far as I'm aware. Closer to silent hill if anything. But even then its not really reminiscent of either.
Yeap, it is very linear too. Not overly impressed. Personally i think it is kinda similar to Heavy Rain, but instead of trying to make and interactive movie style to add gameplay, they have added shooting.
It doesn't even look that great either, i was really disappointed about how it looks, and how it blurs an awful lot as soon as you are moving the camera.
And what is with the no melee? Or am i missing something?
Well I just switched off out of boredom. Sorry but this is just Condemned 2 on rails and I didn't even finish that pos. If you want scares, play Condemned 1.
Right now I'm on Chapter 3, running through yet another forest towards yet another sodding lit up building. I reach the building after much hassle running through the woods, and before I know it - I am running away from the building and back into the woods. Sod that.
Remedy have created a stunningly beautiful world that is amazing to experience, it looks so good with great ambient audio throughout. Sadly it smacks of being rushed in a lot of areas. The episodic presentation is spot on, the control of AW feels quirky and don't get me started on run & dodge being the same button.

Ok played up to chapter 3 and i think its realy great. If you like story driven games then you will like this.
Atmosphere is great and the pacing is spot on. Only problem is its a bit rinse and repeat so far. Go in forest kill dudes run to the light.

Have to agree with everyone that's saying it's a bit rinse and repeat I'm enjoying it because it's a good storyline and it has me hooked in but if the story doesn't catch you then I can't see you getting much enjoyment out of it.
Shame it's not an open world game like GTA. I actually enjoy the daylight bits and think it'd be great to explore Bright Falls!

I just finished chapter 3 and boy was it a slog. Run along predetermined path. If you can be bothered take the route that is glaringly obvious it isn't the way to go to pick up a thermos or manuscript page, and then go back.
I was quite looking forward to this too

Without posting spoilers, this is how I saw the game while I was playing through it.
Run through the Forest, shoot some Taken (baddies), start up a generator repeat for 10 hours.
I found the game completely repetitive and boring. I had been excited for this game since it was first announced, really disappointed.

You seem to have overlooked the excellent story, setting and characters in your summary there.
If games that are STORY lead then perhaps this isn't the best option for you. I think it's fantastic. More games should be like this. It's the story/characters above anything else that make a game good in my opinion. Mix it up with some gun gameplay and you're on to a winner.
You also fail to mention some of the fantastic set pieces this game has - Nordic rock gods anyone?!

The idea for the story was great, the execution not so good, I found it hard to get immersed in the story line when the game play was so repetitive.
Nordic rock gods owned so hard! It was no where near expected, just another twist this game has in its excellent story. Just hit last chapter and already thinking of my next play through!
