I am currently considering either Dura Ace 7900 or Di2 for my ROI frame. Di2 would come in at around £1800 perhaps, 7900 closer to £1000. Played around with it before on bikes.

Took the ROI round Hillingdon circuit over the weekend at speed, rather impressed with the stiffness and the wheels (carbon clinchers), think it deserves more than the DA 7800 on it now :D

Upgrading would be a great idea.

Now, how much for the DA7800 group and that FSA Kforce carbon crankset you've got?

Will let you know if I plan to sell it all. All in great condition, might put it on the Bianchi frame I have. Decided to go for Di2, but going to do it in July.

Di2. It's wrong, just wrong.

Another short XC race yesterday, another top 5 finish but still no podium this year. Did win schwag though and got to pick from a pile. Picked up a best of Earthed DVD, even though I think I've seen all the films :D

Just picked up some Avid Juciy 5's from a friend for my Charge singlespeed. The levers are a bit scraped, anyone got an idea of what paint would be best to give them a touch up?

I want a full review of the Di2. I'd be interested to know what it really brings to the party in terms of speed, accuracy and smoothness of change.

my local has had 2 bikes through with Di2 so far. I had a extensive play with one, was rather impressed with it. I don't even need to upgrade the bike really to be frank, but like a PC enthuiast wants a top end GPU, I want to try Shimano's flagship groupset. On the shopping list is another set of rims, tempted to get the Focus Di2 instead as the bike is a bargain (wheels and groupset alone is most the price)

Ok now im getting very annoyed with my bike.

Last week my front end sel.tarted juddering on medium braking, went to LBs they said they thought it
was contaminated pads / disks and sold me some spray to clean it with. This has improved it slightly. So i reckon a few more rides and it should be ok i hope.

But now.........my rear brakes have gone really pap. Lever dead spongy and cant get them to lock up. Am unable to (if i wanted) skid the back wheel.

This is the first set of disk or hydro brakes i have had. Can anyone advise what my next steps are please.

Cheers

Andy

Can someone reccomend my some decent Chunky XC tyres? I'm also using the bike for a short 10 min commute to work and I've just got yet another puncture from pretty minor thorns/sharp stones. I was hoping my slime tubes would save me, but in this case they just seem to have made a mess!

The bike is currently running Specialized 'Fast Trak LK Sport' tyres.

They will need bedding in if new, and if there soft may need a bleed or there is air in the calliper. You can some times clear this by zip tying the lever on over night to force the bubbles to the lever.

Or Schwalbe Smart Sams. Pretty good off road and roll reasonably well on tarmac and paths. Got 'em as OEM on my Cube Acid. Were still a bit of a shock to ride on roads for the first time compared to my usual road bike though. :p

Thanks they are 3 months (200 ish miles old) i just remembered i saw the zip tie trick earlier
in this thread, thanks ill nip out and do it now.

Thanks

Odd probelm on my Focus.

Got a weird metallic rattle I can't place my finger on, reason being is I only hear it when putting pressure on the pedals and picking up speed, I don't hear it freewheeling. It's not coming from bottom bracket I don't think, though tomorrow I'm going to take cranks off and check that area and give it a clean and lube, it sounds like its coming from rear wheel area. It's something I can't replicate on the workstand making it more frustrating to find and eliminate.

Any ideas what else it could be ans what I should check for? I want it gone by the weekend for Cannock!

Aside from this everything is perfect with everything functioning normally, gears, brakes forks etc :/
