Yeah it was almost definitely deliberate. I think Minh Le was basically giving Valve the finger for shelving CS2 for so long. Minh Le was originally employed by Valve along with Cliffe (who also created CS with him) when CS got really big but Minh Le I think grew frustrated and went his own seperate way while Cliffe stayed on at Valve.

They said the same think at the end of 2008...
Also, in the months before the end of 2009, they said release this year for sure. And when they had to announce it wasn't ready, they gave the impression they had to get things just right but there wasn't much left to do. here we are, six months later...

I'd love to be surprised, but I genuinely don't believe it's going to be released.

I'm afraid I'm right in the sense of what the game is and evolution
I don't care what Valve name they give to it, to me CS1.6 is CS1, CZ is CS 1.5, CS:S is CS2, CS-new = CS3 :D

I doubt they'll bundle a L4D game/expansion in there as that game is worth too much on it's own.

More like, HL2, HL2:ep 1, HL2:ep 2, HL: ep 3, Portal 2, portal 1, TF2, L4d, Counterstrike and HL1 source version and the original Lemmings and Worms, for £75, but its cheap because look how many games you get... yay.

HL2 is old, boring and dead, and I'm getting a touch peeved at having to pay for content I have to get the new bit of it, or get utterly utterly screwed on the single item price.

I have such little interest in Ep 3 now, HL3, a new game, new engine and some new ideas would be interesting, a new CS would be great, Portal was good but I'm not killing myself waiting for a second 1 hour long game(maybe 2) of puzzles that only felt new because we hadn't seen them for so long, but were really incredibly old and basic. THe novelty of an updated incredibly old style of puzzle game won't be there this time.

A new CS or Hl3, anything else is almost boring.

It will eventually. They will have to start to take the console market more seriously.

I foresee it happening in the next decade.


How many more times can we be sold Dr Freeman? The console crowd will buy any rehash, they will even thank you for it!
