'New' car advice

I bought a 4 year old BMW. I am very proud of it. You could buy 5 of them for 50k.

Your budget is just pointless.

Which BMW was it?

If I am really honest part of my decision to have a large budget was that I know a few people who have 3 series bmws (on finance or even just borrow their dads etc), and I kind of wanted to get something different or a little more fancy.

I know how it sounds I am not an idiot but I really don't know how else to say what I want.

I really don't know what I want but I have some more ideas now. Maybe I should have just posted if you personally have 20-50k what would you buy?

:( :( :( £20k-50k?! You realise that covers everything from a 320d to a Nissan GT-R right?

We could spend all day listing car's that would be good for us, but it wouldn't help you, because you don't know what you want!

Interesting timing I just got an email from terry brown saying:

BMW Automobile Award Programme
Your Email Address Has Won You A Car and a cash prize of 750,000GBP

Maybe I won't need to buy a new car after all!

absolute crazy thread, guy asking to be specd a new car when his happy with a car ranging from 10k to 50k lol. surely OP you should just browse the net ie auotrader and pistonheads and just see what you like, then come back with a more narrow list and these wonderful guys will point you in the right direction....

but if i had your budget id buy 1 of these bad boys :D

You don't need £50k to get something more fancy than a 3-Series. Your friend's could have 318d's for all you know and you'd need to spend about £8k to get something more "fancy" than that.

What do you mean by "fancy" by the way? Quicker? More expensive? Better badge? More hardcore? More shiny? Better looking?

A Ford Focus will be a nice upgrade from an Astra! :)

Pfft a Ford Focus is no way more fancy than a 3-Series. A 3 Series would definitely win in a fight.

This is exactly what i was saying - we could list car's that we would want until the cows come home but 99.99999% of these won't be even nearly relevant to the OP...

...unless the OP does actually want a 8.3 litre Dodge Viper.

I fully intend to do some test driving and browsing of show rooms and the net but just to reply to this.

Something that looks better, possibly better badge/make, quicker and more expensive.

So its all about the bling? And getting one over on your mates?

He just wants a flash car it seems. Expensive and good looking. You don't even have an interest in cars, so why bother spending so much?

get an Audi S5 or something.

Just guessing.

Ok, well i'll prescribe a Porsche and a bottle of Autoglym Super Resin Polish then.

The fight comment was a joke to wind up the people who were winding me up!

;)

Ok, it's getting slightly ridiculous now...

Now we need to know what 3 Series' your friends has, so that we can suggest cars that are quicker, more expensive and possibly with a better badge.

If they have a 325 or less, i can offer you my 2002 330i Sport (polished it yesterday so it's extra shiny) for £40,000. I think that meets your needs, doesn't it?

Call your bank, ask to speak to the bank manager, ask him what he drives - Go buy one.

No need to drive them, compare them when flash is the only criteria.
