A Stump Jumper FSR is easily enough for any of the UK Trail centres.

Rubbish, a hard tail is enough for all the UK trail centers. :p It's about what you feel comfortable on.

I adjusted the Crossmax SX bearings to make them loose. Man these wheels are quick. I was flying over the rocky sections today. I think I tore the sidewalls of the supersonics in about 20 places. lol. No flats though :D

I just averaged 13.1mph on my MTB today on a ~15 mile stretch of path. Would there be any chance of getting slicker road tyres that would fit on my MTB (or a road wheel to replace mine that would accomodate disc brakes) or would I be better off just getting a new bike?

This is my bike:

I *think* the wheels are 26"x2.25" if that helps

haha! what bars are those? :D

Just the standard mongoose ones that came with the bike, had it since october. This is my second set of bmx bars ive snapped, and im not heavy atall.

Buying some nice big bars tomorrow.
Just in from the WC.
On another note, i just bought a giant trance frame :)

Any Merlin Malt or Rock Lobster owners here?

Need sizing advice. :D

I've got a Malt 4, 17.5 inch one. Not 17 as its advertised. I think they're all .5 sizes

I'm 5.10 and the bike does feel big but I've got short legs, so it probably be ok for most 5.8 to 6.0 footers,

Thinking I should have got a 15 but its ok for most xc stuff. When i'm at Stainburn and similar places with lots of rocks I'd prefer a small bike as i like to throw it around a little.

YYEEEEESSS Gee man! Well happy with that result!

My friend didnt manage to qualify in mens but Manon did and finished 8th in the women, leaving her 11th overall and first in juniors :D

Just in from the WC.
Same.
Great day, biggest crowd yet i think?
nice to see Gee win but a pitty that rachel just missed out.
Was gutted for ben cathro, looked like he was on track for a good finish and some time in the hot seat until his chain came off :(

I used Schwalbe Marathon 26 x 2.0 tyres on my mtb, great road tyre, super quiet and good puncture protection too.

I know I just assumed I could venture into different things with an AM and it would be a tougher bike all round, but as you've said my weight wont effect the rear shock I'll just stick to an XC bike:).

People will recommend all sorts of things to you, the best thing to do is find your local bike shops (you'll need to find a few as they won't all carry the same brands) then go and try different bikes out there. Even better would be to get it down to a shortlist of 3 or so bikes, then demo them and see which ride/fit you like most.

There is an Evans Cycles in Brighton that I'll be going too.

Had a great day at the Fort William world cup today :)

Lift to the top, then walked down snapping photos on the way, made it to the bottom in time to see Gee in for his win.
Managed to meet Gee and Rachael and get their autographs as well as Steve Peat (bought his book and he signed it for me) Delighted :)

well time to invest in some oddys then ;) my mate gave mine for free.. they are light and sturdy :O btw! about big bars... id say try them first :) i though i would like them.. but then i hated and still prefer 28" ones.. with 8" rise..

Do any of you use ztr 355 rims. Im tempted to get the pro 3 xc6 wheelset.

Or american classics for that matter?

I also thought I'd like wide bars on the BMX, what with using 710mm bars on the MTB. Can't stand them though, 26.5" Proper with 8" rise on my bike. Not that I can ride BMX anymore after the last injury, game over for me.

Grudas, are you going to RomJam on the 20th?

Getting a pair of these badboys :)

Randomly pricing up wheels this afternoon after I'd finished truing my very wobbly rear wheel from my big bike, I noticed just how damn cheap the Deemax are from CRC. They're about 200 quid cheaper than over here. I wish CRC had Hadley hubs, but the other set I priced up in comparison was Sun Abbah Lawwill's on 823's.

Nice. Trance normal or Trance X?

Just the normal one, decided i need something more all round than just a DH bike so should do the job.

My mate has some bars which are 29" wide and 8.25" rise i think, i ride his bike all the time, theyre a bit wide but i like the height, so will probably get them and chop them down a bit
