Yeah - i prefer the look of the stock ones... but there's one functionality in the HTC one you just don't get with the stock dialer... when you click on phone, just start typing either someones name or their number and they'll appear within the phone window to select and dial immediately... you can't do that with the stock dialer

Not tried wireless tethering yet, will do later today!

I assume it still won't without manually assigning IP because of a bug in the way DHCP gets assigned when the Desire is the handset.

I have the griffin smarttalk, it works fine for answering, ending calls plus pausing and resuming songs/audio books(doesn't skip through tracks etc tho).

Looks great. I might root mine tonight and flash sparta on. Its an undervolted, overclocked kernel isn't it? Got to do something to improve battery life!

After installing the recent HTC OTA update, my phone keeps crashing. It usually happens once the screen is locked, and I cannot wake it back up. I need to take the battery out and restart it that way.

I have not modified the ROM or even rooted it. Nothing has changed other than the OTA update

Just rooted my phone thanks to all the help here and on that other site. Going to try updating to a different rom now

It been a while, I was upto date with the community when i had a HTC Diamond touch, albeit that was windows mobile
Been on E71 for over a year now

But my Desire is on its way, I should be able to root it no problem, but what is the best ROM to go for?

I see Modaco's is quite popular and im just investigating the Sparta one mentioned above.

Think i'll be in this thread a lot in days to come !

ARGH! Crashed again. It is on my desk right now, frozen on the home screen.

Interesting thing is, when I call it, it rings but nothing shows up on the screen
