Well there is the 'wanting something new' and also a change. The iPhone looks remarkably different . All the others have been the same design .
The battery is an issue for me on the current iPhone - which has quite a bit of improvement on this . We all like a nice bit of kit . IMO the new phone looks amazing *There are a lot of users out there that have had the 3GS a year now and want something new. A year is a long time for tech! :D

Not sure specifically, but for that much more money than the competition, it would need to do a lot more than the competitition, which it doesn't really. It's a lovely phone, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't jusitfy the extra cost for no extra features.
 
iBooks looks very nice indeed :)

Desperate to know when it will hit the stores :D Hoping for this Friday - we'll have to see ;)

No matter what a company produce someone will always want MORE.

Guess you'll have to wait for iPhone 10 before you're happy...

then it'll be "zomg, only 25mp camera with interchangable lenses?!, where the hell is my attachment for external flash"

Again for emphasis - like? Its pretty nifty but agreed overpriced compared to other smartphones - just dont feel they are packaged awell as this though...

Android only has a customisable interface that the Apple doesn't and is still playing catch up with regard to most things
 
Given the previous pricing of iPhones compared to Android handsets this isn't good enough IMO to be even close to justifying the difference. Look in the mobile forum and you'll find a lot of people who got a Desire for under £400 total cost of phone and contract, then look at the cheapest iPhone deals.

They release 5 phones per month :p

I only wish we could get the HTC EVO in the UK, I think most people would take it over this without question.

There is no other phone comperable to iPhone 4 in features, spec and OS IMO.

I'm not sure you quite understood what I meant, the features are all there for me to buy it, just not at a price that is that much higher than the competition. There are/will be plenty of phones that match this in features available, and unless they all cost the same as this, I'll go for one of those over this and save myself a nice amount of cash!
 
i bet everyone who got an iPad for books is kicking themselves now, why have an ipad when you can have all the books on the iPhone with a better display, retina on iPad v2 anyone lol
