Has anyone 'official' started to do decent Droid apps? By official I mean stuff like the SkySports score center, Shells nearest vPower finder, British Gas meter reading stuff? Simple boring stuff thats polished nicely and is actually useful. Android is rammed with apps that make the phone more interesting to use, new launchers, task managers overclockers etc. etc. but there seems to be little in the way of actual real world useful apps.

Disclaimer: I currently have WinMo, there's tonnes of customisation and clever phone oriented software for it, but need information on the move? No luck sir! I am upgrading first week of July so have until then to decide!

I just wish the developers of the Android apps would actually put some thought into appearance. 90% of Android apps are horrible. doubleTwist have got it right in terms of appearance IMO. Looks very sleek.

When you spend your time doing graphic design, you hate to be looking at white text on a black background constantly or horrible fonts. :p
 
I'm liking Pays ROM, just configuring it all now.

Dont do what I did and go straight into Apps and uninstall the Launcher :p

Makes the home screen just black and unusable, wipe didn't fix it either :eek:

Had to wait about 6 minutes for my awful home "G" signal to download LauncherPro.apk as I didn't have my phone connected to the router :(

Thank god I managed to get the browser open, such fail :p (Yes, I had deleted Pays.zip off the SD Card beforehand, lol)
 
Any of you got the Voice Search installed on Pays Sparta rom ok? When I reboot the phone, it removes itself and I have to install it again. It works fine before I reboot though.
 
Voice Search was installed by default!

Smart Shortcuts is amazing, so much so that I've been able to reduce my homescreens from 5 to 4 (4th now blank).

On top of that due to one less homescreen the phone is a bit nippier still!
 
What does it do? I like to use the homescreens for widgets mainly. I'd rather click once to get to the app on the all programs list, than to swipe a few times on the homescreens to get to the same app..

I must have installed it wrong or removed something that affected the Voice Search. Not too fussed, not worth the hassle of wiping and flashing again. :(
 
Flashing Sparta now, hopefully I'll stick with this more than a few days now lol. Have to say I did like the 2 days of battery I got from auto underclocking on the pays-sense v1.5
