Anyone else running Sparta and can confirm the following two things:

1) When setting an alarm, the day options are shown as "1,2,3...7" rather than "Mon,Tue...Sun".
2) When adding a shortcut to the homescreen - there's "Direct dial" and "Direct Dial", similar with "Direct message" and "Direct Message".

com.htc.bg keeps force closing, but it has no effect on my phone, other than the annoying popup do you reckon this means a hard format to fix it?

Haggle. I phoned them once and the guy said it would cost me £80 to buy the phone on Panther 30 Talk plan and that they had none in stock anyway.

Phoned them 10 minutes later and took a sterner line ( i.e. i am leaving orange if you dont give me what i want). Got the phone for £50 and will only be paying £22.50 a month for the Panther 30 talk plan . Which in my book gives me quite a saving over 24 months!

This was a week last Thursday and I got the phone delivered by Monday morning! Out of stock..pfft!

I've already "haggled" with them, the phone's just out of stock, and I'm wondering how long it'll be before it's in stock

I picked up a Desire on Wednesday. Absolutely loving it, it's quite a step up from my SE K750


Does anyone know of a decent stand/charger for the desire?

I've seen a few on various competitors but they're all getting mixed reviews.

Didn't like Spartan but tried this Amer_Bravox_V3_Exclusive, quite like it. End of the day they are all the same with different skins and default apps.

What is it your waiting for from the froyo ROM? Camcorder is the biggest issue for me, but i hardly use it anyway.

I don't get the echo or the notification light staying on so it's pretty awesome to me

In fact i even donated to the guy yesterday, gives um the urge to work harder

For me I'd like battery life of more than 8 hours and for it to stop disabling my wireless apn. It's pretty nice apart from that!

Oh and the web browser is slow and laggy with two very annoying zoom buttons you can't get rid of...

If you want a cracking deal with a free desire and your already a t-mobile customer, i've been through their retention department several times, choosing disconnections and ended up with a

£30 p/m 24 month contract deal with
900 minutes
unlimited texts
unlimited data

You can sometimes swap your unlimited text bolt on monthly as well, so you can choose to drop it to 500 texts and have unlimited landlines or unlimited t-mobile to t-mobile calls. Pretty good deals if you have the coverage for 3G/HSDPA t-mobile in your area.

Funny you should say that as I I'm in that situation and they won't give me a damn thing. Been with T-Mob for 3 years with bills around £35 and the best they offer me is £35pm and pay £70 for the phone on 18 month contract. Told them to shove it!

If I take one of better T-Mob deals from the likes of mobiles.co.uk, will a PAC code still work? I'm not really moving network am I?

Tried 0.8 DeFroST just now. Broke data connection. Restored my Sparta ROM.

I don't try the froya roms now i will just wait until a proper 100% everything is working rom comes out, i just end up restoring my sparta all the time so can't seem the point, best rom out atm imo sparta nice and clean and all of the htc crap taken out.

Regarding Sparta:

Thanks for your great ROM

I have choosen it as my first ROM ever because I was interessted in the vanilla tasty skin and a friend told me, that the battery life should increase without sense.

But the opposite happened. My battery is now empty within 12-24 hours. Without root (and your ROM) my battery lasted 2-3 days. Is this normal?

Wifi: Sometimes activated
Bluetooth: Never activated

Phon Info says:
Android System: 32%
Handy Standby: 21%
Phone inactiv: 15%
wlan: 15%
display: 11%
phone: 2%

I plugged the usb cable 1,5 hours before of and only have 82% battery left. :/

This one is OC but I will switch back soon
Meanwhile you can set your CPU clock a little bit lower with SetCPU

This was posted yesterday on xda-developers... so does Sparta overclock the CPU by default, hence the reduced battery life? I am having similar issues with my battery life

Notification Light, and the screen issue sorted out so it doesn't destroy the battery. Auto-light sensor too.

Even though I found the battery ok when I last had 0.4 on, so I doubt its got any worse.

I'll give it a try when the next version is out

How many minutes do you get? It's not a massive saving really, as you can get the phone for free for £25 a month with 600 minutes, on a 24 month T-Mobile contract. It's a moot point anyway, if your not considering other networks.

If you are perfectly happy with everything, I'd say to leave them alone.

Wrong. There's a slim outside chance it MAY come on June 23rd, I'd say its 99% not going to happen, but we can dream.

It gives you choice. Standard with HTC Sense is fine, but if you want you can run bare Android etc. There's a hacked version of Froyo as well but it's not that great for general use. Hopefully we'll see it released this month but it could be longer!
