I've answered this a couple of times in this thread mate. If you buy the iPhone 4 on payg, your carrier will change your contract sim details over to a micro sim. I called o2 last week and they confirmed they'd be able to do this. No need for cutting our sims.
 
Not sure what to do here. It'll cost £200 to terminate my contract..or I could sell my 16GB 3GS and just buy it PAYG. I'll be selling the 3GS either way most likely, though. Soon find out tomorrow, I guess!
 
I know im sorry but the thread got a bit long and missed reading a few pages.

So buy the payg from the o2 store, it'll come with the payg mSim, then i phone up o2 and ask them to swap my current number with my contract to it?

Depends if you need the benefits of a monthly contract (calls and texts) or if you can get by just topping up £10 every so often.

If you sell the 3GS you'll be pay £200 to £250 for a PAYG iPhone or if you sell the 3GS and pay your way out of the contract, you'll be paying £150 to £200 most likely for a contract iPhone.

Yup you've got it. That's the plan for me anyways mate. As I said I called o2 to confirm this so I'm going to take their word for it.
 
Well that settles it, going to sell my HTC Desire (Well it's already on the bay) and use the funds to cover the early upgrade costs :)

I keep comparing everything about it to my old 3Gs and to be fair I miss the iPhone now :(

A shiny new 4G should sort that out though :D roll on the 24th
 
Stupid question, im think of selling the 3GS on the Bay as good prices seem to be had for them. I assume I just sell my Applecare for the phone with it?

Yeah can't see why nt, see lots of Macbook Pro etc going with Applecare as it is tied to the serial number
 
Tho it might help the sale stand out a bit.

Have to make my mind u in the next couple of hours really to get a good weeks worth of bidding done!
