1. I believe I have warped the front disc break, here's a youtube
lol... yup... I believe so too

Buy another rotor, and fit it using the torx bolts that's on your current rotor. Just remember to buy the same size rotor!

i was lost at rotor, i presume is the metal spinning thing and torx bolts
I need to learn
I mean exactly that, there is a little bit of play in that.
Its been about 16 years since i have done any maintenance on a bike other than changing an innertube, but i am quite hands on and like to do things myself if i can.
Nothing seems to be rusted on the bike at all, i can remove the allen bolt that goes down the centre of the neck but nothing moves at all?
sorry in english pleasei was lost at rotor, i presume is the metal spinning thing and torx bolts

It's just screwed to it, by little torx bolts. Take the wheel off and undo these bolts to remove/replaceI mean exactly that, there is a little bit of play in that.

Your rotor disk is the spinny silver wheel thingy attached to the wheel.
Your brakes clamp onto this to brake.

Yours is very fubar and is in need of replacing as you wont be able to get that straight again.
The spinny silver wheel thingy is attached to your wheel's hub - the thingy in the middle of the wheel, holding the whole shebang together :) It's just screwed to it, by little torx bolts. Take the wheel off and undo these bolts to remove/replace
aaah thank you, should I replace both of them if I'm replacing one, seems sensible to me? and do they need to be exactly the same, or just the same diameter, also I have managed to sort out the links on the other page, any more suggestions?? thanks :)

You only need the one if the other is ok. You pictures are a little confusing not sure what it is you are asking advice on![]()

sorry didn't explain, I was just wondering if there were any more suggestions to any improvements I could make on the bike, as I'm going to need to take the wheel off, is there anything else worth changing while I'm doing it![]()

and if you wanted some grippier pedals get some flats.Ah, that's a bit more tricky unfortunately and could be a few things.
When you say there is play in it, does your handlebar kinda wiggle about ?
If you hold the front brake and rock the bike forward and backward by the handle bars do you get movement where the short arrow points to?
You could alternatively go to a shop in Esher, called "Freeborn" .
The mechanic there - Rob Cole -is a very helpful chap and will sort you out quickly, without over charging.

I actually brought the bike from there, so I'll be going up there tomorrow and will get a new disc, if I can find the right sized torx thingy to remove the metal thing from the wheel, as I can't atm :(
unless your finding anything problematic on the bike everything looks fine, you could remove the reflectors from the pedals :p and if you wanted some grippier pedals get some flats.
hmm yeh may remove them and look at some new pedals :)
icysniper - actually, come to think of it - if the bike has been ridden like that for a while, maybe you need to replace your brakepad. Check if it's worn more on on side than the other - just peek through the "cleft" (teehee) in the brake caliper.
don't think it has, as I would have noticed it yesterday, but then it could have been like that for quite a while, so how can I tell if the brakepad is actually worn away?? just by looking at it lol?? sorry I really am quite dumb when it comes to bikes :(
zootfloot, how do you mean you can't raise your handlebars?

Exactly as i say, i have loosened the bolt but am unable to get the handlebars to rise at all, no give whatsoever.![]()
maybe a silly question but have you loosened the stem bolts?
Yea you will just see it.
If you are at Esher, just let Rob (bald chatty fella )show you how he changed it over and how to look for brakepad wear, but I'm sure you don't have any
, have just checked the breakpads and can't tell, so am being a noob again and here are some imageshave a nose here, should make a bit more sense (you have a threadless headset from the sounds of it)
