*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Only reason I'm picking up is that I won't have the money til payday - I'm borrowing some off my girlfriend for a few days. She works there anyway so I'll pick her up same time. No discount on iPhone though. I got a discount on the original but they don't do it since then :(

Orange will NOT be sending out or transferring existing customers to micro-sim UNLESS they get the iPhone 4 from them either on their PAYG or contract tariffs.

Thats a bummer for me as I wanted to transfer my existing contract over by buying the iPhone direct from apple!

Ahh well, going to be a lot of peed off Orange customers out there and guess a lot of iPhone 4's will be going back!

Only way is to trim the existing sim down to micro-sim but if it goes wrong then it will cost you £18 for a replacement and they want the old SIM back aswell.

Completely forgot about getting my pre-order in before heading to work :o

Thankfully managed to get it through before it jumped to July 2nd :D

Source?? I expect o2 and the other networks will follow suit. Crap. Ah well looks like i'll be looking for a PAYG phone from o2 instead then...

Does anyone know if this sim free unlocked phone will forever be on sell by Apple or only for this pre order time?

Can't afford yet and don't want to be tied to a contract. :)

Should be forever, don't see why not. Even if they started to offer o2 only iPhones, it would only cost an extra £15 to remove the lock so its sim-free again.

I'd also like to know where exactly where you heard this?

I personally did wonder about this, but aside form the iPhone & iPad is there anything else on the market yet using micro SIMs... I presume there are plenty of phones arriving soon which do if there aren't.

In which case, if you are a paying customer on a contract with a phone service provider, can they legally refuse to give you a micro-sim, if the phone you need to use requires one. Of course they could charge a fee for replacement, but straight up not allowing it seems wrong.

Was wondering as I'm headed to Canada INS month (where it will be offered unlocked). Would be nice to be able to bring it home with me. Currently Canadian carriers don't unlock so I have to rely on Apple. :)

If i sign up for a 12 month SIM only simplicity contract from 02 (with unlimited internet,) will that stay as such for the 12 months? Looks tempting if so at only £15 a month. Also £25 quid back from Quidco.

Or do you think this 500mb allowance thing will also kick in for this contract after October.

Was waiting to see what the other carriers were going to offer tarrif wise before bunging in a pre-order and its allready sold out ?

The 3 website still says register here for details not even released prices yet ??
hmm so does vodaphone and o2 etc

I think it's worth a shot as that's what I was thinking of doing. Vodafones £20/month SIM only 12 month plan gives you £100 quidco cashback which works out cheaper than o2 but with 600mins/3000 texts/1gb data. Decisions decisions :p

Shame I was thinking too much about it yesterday and my order is shipping 2nd July, wonder if there is any chance we *may* get it on the 24th? ;o

Has anyone cut down there normal sim to fit a micro slot? Im on a 30 day vodafone contract, phoned them yesterday to see if they could send a micro out, they said they dont have any information yet!
