I used to play many years ago when I had a lot more time on my hands and enjoyed the experience. I'm thinking about creating a new account to play casually - probably 1-2 hour sessions 2-3 times a week. Is it worth playing the game for such a small amount each week? I'd like to know how casual players find the whole experience. Thanks.

You can easy do that now and still get to see all endgame instances.

Leveling is easy, gearing is quick and easy.

You can be in a pug and down 6/12 ICC easy now.

I count as a hardcore player. Only LK HC 25man left now, and I play for maybe 4hours a night on raid nights -4 nights a week. And i have a ICC geared alt, and leveling another druid atm too. Its easy to gear and level now.

WoW is more based around a casual player now, than catering for the hardcore raiders. Most raiders have 2+ alts all geared for endgame now.

I have only now started playing wow, i got 8 week old daughter so i only play 1 night in the week and a Friday nite from 10. we've ust created a guild in wow on the shadowsong server... your welcome to join us.

It would be good to join a casual guild as they are rare it seems. Horde or Alliance? I may take you up on the offer.

I used to put in lots of hours but now only play a little few hours a week. As mentioned above, you should still be able to see most of the content since it's mostly pretty easy now. The dungeon finder tool means you can log on, queue up for a few minutes and get straight into an instance, so you can always make progress towards a new bit of kit even when you don't have a lot of time.

What I'd suggest is playing a tank class (a Paladin is good), since you'll be able to get into groups literally instantly and with some easily-obtainable kit you should be able to solo most of the group quests if you make it to level 80. You should also be able to solo all of the level 70 and lower instances and some of the level 60 raids should you feel inclined.

I honestly dont understand how people level so quickly I must be doing something wrong.

must have racked up 30 hours over last 2 weeks and my hunter just turned 26 im doing a few dungeons and using Zygors guide addon for quickness. I must just suck.

I guess depends on your self control. Plenty of people can't control how much they play, but for those of us who can, a casual WoW exists :)

I might have also been tempted by some casual WoW but it seems my account is dead meat. I've tried recovering the password and have only ever used 2 email addresses in the last ten years and neither of those are recognised, I still have all the box's somewhere but I guess they won't be interested in that and I don't fancy buying all the expansions again in order to play.

Ring support, I'm sure they can help you out.

Should I play a Paladin or Priest?

Played casually for about 4 months and dragged a mage to 80. Just unsubbed till cata and with the impending birth of a daughter so if i resub (as i suspect i might) it will be really casual! Whats the guild on shadowsong? Is that pvp server?

Anyway, dragged a mage to 80 in that time and now staring down the horrendously long path of gearing. Its not easy getting 2 emblems every dungeon when you can only do 1 or 2 a night.

I wouldnt play a pally personally - I tried but theyre so auto attack I couldnt make it past 13, so hes sitting there waiting for me to come back to him. I especially didnt like the fact that you dont get a strike till 50 as I like a bit of mash myself and as a mage there was plenty of reactive stuff i needed to do. In later levels Pallys are hard to take down but they dont hurt much either so it all balances out. Priests (or druids) though are always in demand.

It would be great to be part of a guild of casual players.

Thegoon84 can you give some details on how people can join?

As others have said the game is much more casual friendly and you can do a lot in game now with only few hours a day.

Paladin or druid is a good class to level imo, can do pretty much anything which is good for variety.

On another note, had a woman @ work the other day who broke down in tears because she couldnt play wow for a weekend (her laptop broke) lol. Dont ever let your self get like that

Ha, that's pretty bad. I have too much I enjoy outside of gaming to get hooked again. Last time I spent a lot of time playing was at Uni.

Thegoon84, what's your characters name?

I wouldn’t have any time to go hardcore…. The good thing is I’m getting triple xp for 3 months so I’m hoping that will give me a massive boost!

My in game name is maxinessgoon.

I'l be on 2nite from 5pm to about 10ish
