O2 Twitter latest :

if I get a PAYG iPhone, can I get a microsim to replace my current contract o2 sim?

O2 :
There'll be more information on microsims on our site soon - http://j.mp/iPhoneOnO2

Vodfone Twitter latest :

website changed from 'Coming June 24th' to 'Coming Soon'... Not liking this. Good news? I hope so...

Vodafone :
As soon as we have any more news, we will let you all know :) ^AW

since apple has no more 32GB phones will you have any?

Vodafone :
At the moment, we have no further news. As soon as we do, we will let you all know ^AW

everyone is keepign very quiet, also form what i have picked up apple stores were quite surprised to have taken all the orders which they did. could there be a possible stock shortage, therefore carriers not knowing the AMOUNT OR IF ANY iphone 4's will be ready for them to ship on the 24th..

I just went and asked in the o2 shop round the corner and he said he can just swap the sim for me, as long as they have them in stock. He says they're expecting quite a lot of iPhone 4s, and currently have millions of 3GSs in stock

So it's ok to keep my preorder with apple and then sort out a micro sim with o2 seperately? (need to get my contract sim transferred)

question, I currently have 8 months left on my contract with o2 (iPhone 3GS)

I can upgrade to the iPhone 4 if I pay £160

then what would be the best thing to do with the 3GS handset?

getting abit worried about this sim issue.

how can apple sell iphones that use a micro sim, when they dont supply a micro sim and all networks are saying they will only supply a micro sim if you buy through them

doesnt make sense to me?! pointless because apple will end up with 6million returned iphone's?

From what they say on their site you should be able to pay it off with £160, best thing to do with your 3gs is give it to someone in family or sell it on recycle o2

Very good point. Can anyone clear this sim issue up??

The deals from Orange aren't as bad as I was expecting.
Would be nice to have unlimited texts on the 18 month, mind.

Why is nearly everyone going PAYG, just out of interest?

Im a new iPhone and a new O2 customer.

I have ordered the iPhone from apple, I will be ok just to walk into an O2 store and ask for a simplicity chip that is also a micro sim.

This is my plan, hopefully there are no downfalls!

APPLE: Hi, my name is Kelli C. Welcome to Apple!
ME: hello ther
are the iphones bought through the apple site supplied with a micro sim?

APPLE: Good morning.
They are not.

ME: i notice that all the networks seem to be refusing to supply a micro sim unless the iphone 4 is bought through there network.
do you know how this will work?

APPLE: That will work.
You can purchase the iPhone from us and then the sim card from the carrier.

ME: the carrier i use is o2 and they are saying they will only supply a o2 micro sim if i buy the pay as you go handset through them, and will not supply one if i buy direct from apple

APPLE: That is not information that we have.

ME: have you been told they will be providing the sims? or do you know nothing on the subject?

APPLE: I have been told that they will be providing sim cards.

ME: i do hope that is correct. thanks for your time

just so you can see what apple have been told on the situation

Heard you mention something earlier in the thread about going into Exeter to pick one up Stinky, this still the case? If so what time you getting there for?
