*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I think I've figured out what I'm going to do. I'm currently on O2 iPhone Simplicity 20 - 1 Month rolling contract:

300mins
Unlimited Data and Text & Wifi
Visual Voicemail

£20.00 per month

I have a recycle price of £150.00 for my 3G 8GB handset. I'm going to buy a handset from Apple and take out a 12 month iPhone Simplicity 20 contract now - keeping my unlimited data for a year.

16GB iPhone4 = 499.00 - £349.00 taking recyle into account
iPhone Simplicity 20 - 12 month (£15.00 per month) = £180.00
300mins
Unlimited Data, Text & Wifi
Visual Voicemail

Total = £529.00 with handset recycle discount
£679.00 without handset recyle discount

Anyone see any flaws with my plan or are there any better options on O2? I've already given O2 my details for a microsim to be delivered, so I should be able to transfer my contract to a microsim using the o2 website.

Going to do the same with the £15 simplicity I think. £180 for the 12 months, £499 for the phone, -£113 for my old phone and whatever quidco I can get.

£576 for the year.

So how unlimited is the data on the O2 Simplicity tariffs? I guess they have a fair usage policy as well?
Plus, ETA for a sim-free iPhone off the Apple store is now 2nd July. D'you guys reckon it'll come before that?

Not just PAYG they will sort out contracts renewal/new/early upgrade in store- checked with Apple store in White City yesterday.

Thanks for that, good to know.

Working out the figures and there's literally nothing between me getting a contract or simplicity as I have 6 months to pay off anyway.

The only real difference is the outlay on the day.

No but if you go in to sign up and they have no handsets surely thats something they have to honour?

Yeh definitely.

As long as we get out order in for early upgrade and new phone before 24th July they can't turn around and say "oh actually you need to pay us more money because you haven't recieved your phone til after 24th July"

I just hope it's not a case of waiting weeks for it to come back in stock.

I'd really like a white one, but just from the demand on here it seems like launch day is going to be a busy one.

What is the deal with O2 then at the moment, there's a small chance I may have sold my 3GS wou would want to do O2's "offer" of buying out contract for cheaper to take out new contract with the 4. Can you do this yet or have to wait?
