*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

BTW: Don't forget. Anyone buying this SIM free, you'll need your SIM to be MicroSIM.

Orange aren't sending any out until 24th (have argued that they provide the MicroSIM for the iPad, it's the same thing, but they're having none of it).

There are a few "hacks" out there on how/where to cut your normal SIM to fit which is what I'll be doing.

I'll be cutting my sim down to size for sure :) Hope I do it right  :p If not, I'll just whip out the sellotape:p

I don't understand why networks are refusing to give people MicroSims until the 24th. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Vodafone have just put mine in the post & it should be here on Monday :)

As long as its here for next thursday thats all I am bothered about :)

Cheers

Just moved myself over to the iPhone simplicity £25 1 month contract. Also cancelled the insurance on my current 3G to save myself a bit of money.
This will save me £18 a month until I decide what to do with the iPhone 4 at least.

The person I spoke to confirmed there will be no O2 pre-orders or any reduced deal for current customers.
It will be a first come first served basis both online and in the stores on the day of release.

I hope in that case they have better stock of the iPhone 4 than they did the 3GS. I don't get paid until the beginning of July so I can see myself having to wait until at least the end of July to get it :(

Just phoned up my local Orange store, as I wont be able to pop in until after work (5:30-6ish).

They said that they'll be open 9am-7:30pm, but they aren't supposed to be taking pre-orders. What they're doing though is taking details, writing out post-it notes, and sticking them ontop of phones, and keeping them for 24 hours. :)

Basically, with any luck (ie. they keep their promise), that's my 32GB black sorted. :D

For all O2 peeps who have pre-ordered through Apple:

If you have pre-ordered iPhone 4 directly from Apple you can get an O2 micro sim from any O2 shop. Simply go to an O2 shop any time from Monday 21 June and bring along your pre-order confirmation email from Apple. You'll need to show it in order to get your micro sim.

So looks like a trip to the O2 store for me :)

Where did you find that out?

So we just need to print out the confirmation order from Apple and take it to an o2 shop from Monday to get a MicroSim? Which could be for PAYG or contract?

Eugh! must have been a cached copy I saw when I pressed 'No'. Now it says...

If you have pre-ordered iPhone 4 directly from Apple you can get an O2 micro sim from any O2 shop. Simply go to an O2 shop any time from Monday 21 June and sign up for the Simplicity for iPhone tariff. Make sure you tell the shop that your tariff is for iPhone 4 and they'll set you up with a micro sim.

:(

From what I understand, the SIM is just a chip with an identification number. You register this number with O2 and they re-assign whatever details were assigned to your 'old' SIM to the new one.
