After reading the comments on here about the game & the 'performance' I'm glad I cut the grass & front hedge outside, then had a shower afterwards. Much more productive & entertaining methinks.

Cant believe rooney said that, if I was him I would boo myself for at least 24 hours. Everytime he touched the ball he messed it up. Even simple control he couldnt do. I would go as far as to say part of tonight's failure was solely because he couldnt play even average football - it was like playing with 10 men, and with heskey on the pitch it was basically 9 men, Capello needs to seriously re-evaluate all his tactics.
Everyone keeps saying formation but that isnt whats wrong. Any formation is going to be poor with heskey on the pitch. Give someone with speed and that edge to play. Defoe came on for about 13 minutes and in the space of 4 minutes he forced 3 corner kicks, which heskey's chances had fallen to him then maybe he could have took it all the way.
No one pressed the ball, Ive seen much more pressure from lesser teams like switzerland and slovakia.
Seriously poor show, if they perform like that ever again I would rather they just quit and go back home, save us the anguish.

Lennon did nothing right apart from one decent cross a second before he went off. People say Lennon is good at taking men on but I do not see this for England, ever.
The real mystery is why hasn't J. Cole had a minute yet when the team is crying out for somebody with confidence in the last 1/3rd.

Need a complete change imo. Start Crouch and leave Rooney till second half. We need Goals and Crouch has scored more consistently recently for England.
Manager looks a complete muppet, starts with heskey again and then brings someone of equal turgidness in SWF, Rooney should not start the last game he deserves to be dropped, let's have cole and defoe up front.

Exactly. Jermain Defoe scored 18 goals last season with a team that played brilliantly all season yet fabio keeps playing a bafoon that has played very little football for months. As for SWP he is another Steven McManaman/Phil Neville. Runs with the ball and does nothing with it.

I've said this for years - every team in the world knows how to play well against England - pressure, pressure and more pressure!
We simply dont have the skill to play around a team chasing us down - and we NEVER do it to other teams!
If we'd had the posession in their half that they had in ours without being pressured then we might have scored a few goals!!
And just to be clear.... EMILE HESKEY IS NOT A FOOTBALLER!!!!
