*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

why are you all so keen to get the os update on exactly the 23rd?

I dropped my Desire today too earlier Mekrel, havn't had it 24 hours :(

Does anyone know how to reset the G-Sensor back to defaults? I tried calibrating it, and I have totally lost the level now... screen is not rotating back after using landscape.

Yes, the level is used was actually level lol

cheers

can I just buy any old Micro USB mains charger from an auction and it'll work with the desire?

No.

Some are cheap and **** while others are cheap and good. It was posted a bit earlier on what mains chargers are suitable I think!

defrost is really bad on battery life. it can keep charge for a whole day. i leave it charging at night to take to work in the morning and it finishes during about lunch time. its really awful.

i just hope they release froyo source as soon as possible so the the power management can be fixed.

also good news is that froyo will be released in two weeks time. its been confirmed on xda dev forum

Had my Desire for a week now and loving it, but have a few questions I'm hoping you knowledgeable lot might be able to help with:

1. How do you get calls to end automatically? I have to press the end call button to end a call, even when the other end has hung up.
2. How do you turn off the FM radio? If I switch to the music player the radio carries on playing, even if I kill it in task manager. I have to reboot to stop it.
3. I can send mail fine over WiFi but not over the phone network. It's a sim free phone with a 3 sim. Anyone else had this problem?
4. I'm using K9 for mail but when I get a mail I get 2 notifications - 1 from K9 and one from the HTC mail client. How can I stop notifications from the HTC client?

Thanks

1: Calls auto end themselves if the line cuts or other end hangs up. This has always worked fine on my Desire both pre and post root/rom flashing. You may be expecting it to end too early but it should end itself and return to home/calls after a few seconds at the latest.

2: Press the power button to turn off the radio receiver:

Then press back to exit.

3: Your APN settings may be incorrect or your sim may need looking in to perhaps, call 3?

4: Been into the HTC client to turn off notifications/syncing?

If we get an update this month I'll eat my Desire. It's not exactly difficult to type something like that up, is it?

tis true, at least in as somneone at htc posted this. the guy on xda posted the email address and the ref used in pics. you can log in for yourself and read the comments if you like - which are:

I wont believe it about the update until I have it installed on my phone, they been promising 2.1 on the Hero since its been released.

Anyone want a wallpaper I'm working on for their Android phones? I have 2 in the works:

First:

^ See how nicely 'Droid fits on the lock screen!

Second:

I think the 2nd probably won't be released due to being a bit too fanboyish ¬_¬
