negative good sir, I'm not blind but I double checked and there's nothing in my app drawer by the name of People or HTC Contacts or anything close to that.

Hmm, the thing is I baked my own version of Froyo Modacom what version do you have? and where did you get it?
 
I had to take my son for a haircut this morning, if anyone has ever taken a 2 and half year old to the barbers when he doesn't want to, you'll know how much of a challenge it was, screaming, shouting, writhing around, almost impossible for the woman to get a pair of scissors near him.

I'd taken my iPod touch with me as he's very much into Thomas the Tank Engine but even the Thomas game wouldnt' pacify him and he threw the iPod on the floor, then it dawned on me, Dailymotion on the iPod seem to have nearly every episode of it.

So I fired up the wireless hotspot on the Desire, connected up with the iPod, he was transfixed for long enough and now he's got a flashy new "do" to show all his toddler friends.

BEAT THAT iPhone!!!

Have you tried adding a shortcut to the home screen?

Shortcut > Applications > Contacts?

If it's still not there id try re-downloading the ROM and try once more
 
Bloody Orange. Each time I phone up to see if they have any in stock yet I get a different story. I just want a Desire :(
 
I can wait. It's just irritating. It can't be that hard to get stock of a mobile phone? How did they/HTC not predict the demand :p

Silver looks ugly! and that black one looks.....different! I like the red bezel on cam lens and the body coloured buttons!

OTA updates are staggered so we might not get it on the 23rd exactly but it could happen!
 
Been playing with the DeFrost 1.0 release (froyo) today, it's stable and almost everything is working. Scrolling is a little jerky though, seems a common trait of Froyo ROMs.

Not sure on battery life at the moment, if it's decent I may keep it on for a while.

I have to say though, the way Froyo handles installing apps onto SD is really disappointing.
