*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I'm wanting to move from o2 to orange. Should I get my PAC code now or wait until iphone 4 is actually on sale? I'm not too fussed with getting it on release day. Just don't want to get the code now to find that I can't get the phone after release due to shortages

Request it now, it can take a day or so to come through and is valid for 30 days. If it expires then you can just request another one.

DONT let them fob you off either... Some companies make it a really difficult and long drawn out process to get a PAC code, which includes saying you will get it and you never do...

They can give you a PAC code INSTANTLY (well voda can)

I called up Vodafone just now and they have some interesting news...

You CAN NOT downgrade your iPhone 4 tariff at any point during the contract period (18 or 24 months). What is more interesting is that the fella told me they have changed all voda contracts and as from 2 weeks ago and you CAN NOT downgrade ANY monthly tariff within the contract length....

First goes the 12 month contract and now downgrading the tariff is on its way out...

Just wait for the 36 month tariffs *shudder*

O2 customer retention not very good at retaining customers!

Just phoned them for a PAC code in preperation for Thursday (have phone reserved at Apple Store). No attempt to find out why I wanted to move from O2.

Told PAC would be with me in 2 hours via txt.

Looks like a switch to Vodaphone or Orange for me.

Any prices from Three yet, they say they will be getting it, but no prices or plans that i can find ? They have been the best 3g/network provider i have ever had too:(

They're apparently waiting for all the other providers to show their hand first so they can undercut them (so i've heard). Shouldn't be long now :)

Well I've got a 16GB reserved, so I am glad to see Apple will hold onto this stock at least for the 24th.

Another shout out to Chris aka Chillimonster! I want your 32GB :p

Vodafone contract guide

1) Grab balls
2) Squeze
3) ?????
4) Profit

You should have a look at Orange and their tariffs...now they are pretty much squeezing every little penny out of their customers.

Its only a matter of time before we see 3 yr contracts...over in America and Canada its more or less the norm there....imagine being stuck in a contract with a crappy phone for 3 yrs??...i have a hard time being stuck in a 18 or 24mth contract as it is.

I did this yesterday? And I am only 12 Months into an 18 Month contract...

When I called to go through normal upgrades, was fed similar spiel, then went to retentions and asked the price to terminate my contract or if it was possible to swap to a sim only contract, after a little umming and arring was told he can put me on the £25 a month sim only 12 month deal. So I not only get to change my contract 2/3's in but also a drop of £5 and 300 extra minutes 512MB extra mobile internet, and 1GB wifi via bt open zone. I would go through to retentions if you want any results, make sure you let them know you already have the phone (assuming you do) and just want a sim only contract? Or they quote you a contract which would normally include a phone.

Its worth noting that more recent contracts, at least newer than 12 months ago may not be eligible as my plan was one of the last ones that could be upgraded or downgrader.

Sorry 'bout the delay - wasn't getting notifications and emails were not getting through the firewall at work (will fix that monday with a hammer )

Anyway, gonna use the reservation myself (and treat the Mrs ;))

For anyone who has a reservation at an apple store and is taking advantage of the o2 early upgrade offer. I've just spoken with Apple and O2 and you have to have paid the early upgrade fee to O2 before you go and pick up the iPhone 4 on Thursday. The Apple guy said that O2 would be accepting payment of the early upgrade fee from Tuesday. He also confirmed that my 32gb iPhone 4 would be held until the end of the day.
