Up until the USA game I really thought Capello was top drawer but he's fell into the same trap our previous managers have. Sticking with favourites no matter what.
Rooney was horribly off form for what ever reason. I don't think he controlled the ball once or found a team mate with a single pass. Without going OTT it was quite possibly one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a player, it was unbelievable how poor he was. Yet Capello kept him on the pitch for 90 mins!! What's the point in taking other strikers?
Heskey looked clueless but he did actually try, not good enough really though is it?
Lennon was again poor but the irony was he was still probably our most dangerous player and Capello took him off.... for SWP FFS!
Captain marvel Gerrard was clearly sulking for being stuck on the left, infact I think the whole team were sulking at the team selection. It was as if there was a battle of wills with the manager, the players lost respect for him I think.
At half time it needed a ballsy decision as it clearly wasn't working. Heskey had to come off to be replaced by either Defoe or move Gerrard up with Rooney and put Joe Cole on. I'd have given Rooney another 20 mins to up his game or I'd swap him for Crouch and get some balls into the box to at least threaten their goal!!
Needed freshening up with a player to show some heart, I'd have put Dawson on in place of carragher aswell. A crashing challenge Dawson style might have stirred a few players up.

Just over paid mediocre players who haven't any pride or hunger to play at the top level,for their country. This has been shown many times over. Slash their wages in half and don't guarentee even the best players to get a spot in the team, sick to death of all the hype around Rooney and him being the "new Pelé". Bring up some new players from the lower leagues who are hungry to play for their country.

I really don't care to be honest. I'd wake up to the most insulting press if I were on their wage packet. Cut their wage, they're over paid and don't earn it.
I think england players should only get paid if they win a game. If they lose or draw, they get nothing and have simply played for their country. I can almost guarantee this would wake them up and make them play. And win.
Loving all the united fans calling anyone who has a dig at Rooney, Chelsea/Liverpool fans dont seem bothered about the crap Gerrard/Lampard is getting, face it Rooney has under performed and his comment at the end of the match riled a lot of people up.

Its now been agreed that all future televised England matches have been moved to the adult channel. Apparently the sight of 11 A**holes getting hammered for 90 mins was far too explicit for normal TV!

Just as Keegan said , the players wrote the headlines and only they can change them.
i'm an england supporter, but i personally think the english team is full of over rated players with a few exceptions. A few days ago alan was comparing rooney with lionel messi, i mean come off it mate your taking the ****. Based on the performances so far i think argentina has this bag'd. (it hurts me to say that lol)
lampard needs to go home. The guy has never done anything for England apart from miss penalty's. They rank him up to be this all mighty midfielder who scores 20 odd goals a season but 10-12 of them were penalty's lol... Joe cole, crouchy, defoe need to be put on!
i'm quite confident we will go through though!

He was awesome at Everton frankly and I saw enough of him there. All he had around him where Jocks and no one could argue there was much world class in the team.
He was also awesome in the game against turkey, there have been times when he has played for manu he has been quiet especially when the team was built around ronaldo.
To suggest rooney is anything but world class is ridiculous, we just need more effort from him and a better system. Lets face it the only player who has looked world class in Cashley.
Personally I think Rooney should be congratulated on his performance last night. That was the first time I've seen him string a sentence together without a swear word or 10 Errrrmmms.

If Walcott would have played that tragically and then said that I can assure you the internet would have broken, not just have 1 or 2 pages of light insults.
It's not surprising though that the likes of SWP/Lennon/Gerrard/Milner haven't got the shedloads of abuse he did every time he played on the wing
People have really short memories about all the times beckham went missing because of one night against greece.
Just look back how woefull he was in big comps especially after coming back from injury.
They were not immense squads both times we lucked into a format that worked due to injuries.
Rooney usually plays up front on his own, Gerrard, Lampard, Barry all play in a midfield three with wingers. We have a top quality tricky winger in Joe Cole, and a top quality pacey winger in Aaron Lennon. Rooney desires a game on his own up top because he thinks anyone else playing gets in his way.

Much better than this squad of muppets we have playing...those 2 aquads would have put in much more effort than we did last night. Sir Bobby Robson must be rolling in his grave with our 2 lame assed performances so far.
