Well yeah but I know on the blackberry there was a great forum app

I went from an n95 to a desire. How is it better than the hero? I thought andoid was android. Is it just faster?

So much faster and new version of the OS, the hero is a brick too !

TapAtalk is a good APP for forums (As long as they support it)

Shame OcUK wont ever do something like that

I'm planning on rooting my Desire today, but having looked at a few guides it suggests some people have had problems using Windows 7 x64. Has anyone with this OS here successfully rooted their Desire? Could use a live CD but I haven't got any disks here and can't be bothered to go out today.

I rooted the first time with Windows 7 x64. And it worked fine.

Wasn't sure why i had problems the second time as a i tried everything and it just worked lol (I have a feeling it was the SDcard tho)

Basically it comes down to if you want to install custom ROMs on the Device or not.

how do u use these?

Use a barcode scanner (such as Barcode Scanner or Google Goggles) and scan it in, the link will be shown in the app after it scans the image.

What the best browser for the desire ??
The default one is driving me crazy with not saving my user name & passwords for some places.
So am having to retype my user name and password in everytime i vist them places...

The ROM that comes in the R6 Desire root guide (http://goo.gl/byyl) comes with a standard rooted Desire ROM AFAIK. If you have a branded (ie T-Mobile/Orange) ROM, you'll need to use a goldcard I think - instructions for this are included in the link above.

Looks like it, as it uses the stock HTC desire ROM.

All the root methods do, unless otherwise stated SenseUI is always included as it's a stock Desire ROM.

Yeah, all that has been done to the stock ROM is allow root access. So everything is intact as per the original shipped Desire ROM.
