The EA week on Steam

You may be right to a certain extent, but in my case I'm happy to overpay a few quid for their service. I will be moving around a lot in the next 2 years, already downsizing to a desktop replacement laptop so having games on my Steam is ideal for me as I will not be moving any of my numerous game boxes around with me.

That is one of the few exceptions to the rule. You could argue that no-cd patches would suffice but they do come with a number of downsides e.g. not all games are instally cracked and are braking copyright law.

Mass Effect for £3 is the deal of the century. One of the best games I've ever played.

Shame DA:A isn't £9.99 but I'm still getting it. 19GB download .

Waited for Saturday for Mass Effect 2 and bloody forgot about it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :o

^ woot someone on bad connections as well? The max i ever get is 1mb, think thats the max my line supports. You have seriously love living out in the sticks! :( I mean I think where i live finally got broadband in i think 2006 or was it 7? Mostly downloading games i average at 800 kb/s downloading DA-O at 865 kb/s at the moment.

Just a heads up for those who prefer boxed copies, Origins and Awakening are £11.95 and £12.95 respectively at Zavvi.

I know this will just seem like complaining for the sake of it, bt I would have liked to see them do a sale on the DAO DLC as well, ratheer than just the main game and the expansion.

Anyway, I already had the two DA games, but I reinstalled it and downloaded about a dozen mods, and started a new playthrough.... :)

Equal Love mod, for the win! (And Skip The Fade, and DAModManager, and Ser Perth, and.....)

just found this on the steam forums.

Oops, this is embarrassing. Due to high demand we have temporarily run out of unique keys for this title. You may, by all means, purchase at the awesome sale price but may not be able to play until we receive more unique product keys. It shouldn't take too long, we have sent armed guards to the publisher's house to get them out of bed, drive them to their secret lair and produce more keys.

pretty bad if you ask me !

Exactly my point. Steam is far from the messiah to save pc gaming. Its a cynical money grab that dupes people into thinking they are getting a great deal. ME1 has been seen for £3 as a boxed copy.

This happened to Tropico 3 a few weeks ago. Was resolved within a few hours.

Well then you are an over-reacting drama queen if you ask me.

You will still get the game you paid for and so you might have to wait one or two days while they sort out more keys, it's hardly the end of the world.

Don't even get me started on you. I will never truly manage to understand the irrational hatred of Steam. It is a content delivery system, end of story. Some like it, some would rather go to a shop. That's all good by me. To claim it's a "cynical money grab" is just utterly stupid. Who gives a flying monkey's if ME1 has been seen for £3 in a shop? What actual relevance do you think that has to this thread?

hold on !

im not a drama queen and not bothered about the game and can wait a few days.

all i was stating is that they sell a game with no key's.

did someone get out of the wrong side of the bed or something ?
