*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

anyone think im over reacting....

I have been an O2 customer, in contract for 12 years. My contract was up last week so I moved to simplicity 30 day.

I have ordered a iPhone 4 from apple, so emailed O2 to ask for a micro-sim. They refused, saying I would need to go to my "local" O2 store to collect one. (30 mile round trip). I said, no thanks, I bought my phone on-line, send me a SIM or a PAC code.

They sent me a PAC code.... should I just move on principle? customer service is just not existent.

Yes. You just sync the current phone and when you conne t the new one it will ask if you want to set up a new device or restore from a backup. You choose restore and job's a good 'un

I did the online o2 sim swap at about 5.30pm and still waiting for my old (current) sim to stop working. I know it says can take 24hrs but some people are done and dusted in minutes!

Any harm in doing the process again?

Stange as mine was done really quick within 5 mins for sure. I would not risk doing it again but up to you???

Get the PAC code and move. O2 have the worst customer service going. (From my experience)

Okay opinions: I really want to go on Vodafone come the 24th, however, I start work at 7:30 each morning so queuing up at 8am(ish) is a no-no for me. I am practically guaranteed an iPhone from Orange as they said they could put one aside for me, which I could collect after work, but I have no experience of their network and so am a bit worried. Also they are quite expensive. Do you guys reckon I should go for it? Can anyone on Orange tell me what their 3G coverage is like?

Cheers...

dont know what to advise really prob best waiting the 24 hours

I decided to just put the microsim in the phone (using a cheap samsung e2120) and guess what, it Works!!!

Being bombarded with emails atm but it seems to work and my old sim was never disabled:confused:

Who do we think will get more stock in?

the network shops like orange and voda

or the car phone warehouse

i am trying to work out where to go first on my iPhone hunt at 8am

in town there are all the network shops
but there all in a shopping center so will all open at the same time

how ever just outside of town about a 3min drive there is another car phone warehouse

just wondering what would be the best place to try and get one.

my printers on the conk, would it be ok if i showed my email comf via the iphone to the o2 store for micro sim??

heh, people at work are already selling their 3GS's and buying PAYG iphone 4 for like £500+ - are they mad or is it worth it?

I'm doing it because I have the 2G which is really quite slow/out of date now.
No matter how you pay for it, be it SIM Free or Contract you still end up paying pretty much the same: £6-750. Depends if you want the flexibility of a smaller contract.

eg: 30 day simplicity = £15 /month + £500 handset = £740 for 12 months
18 month contract = £35 /month + £179 handset = £599 for 12 months

Yeah, but is it worth it if you have a 3GS?

Are O2 still doing unlimited/500mb data on their simplicity options?

When looking at it online it doesn't mention free browsing on any of the options or give the chance to select it as an additional bolt on.
