And conversely, this is wrong as well. Engadget are just trying to score points with Apple.
I would say that if you have money and want the best, it's down to the Desire/iP4 at the very top of the tree, neck and neck. There is no "correct" choice - all I would suggest is that a prospective buyer tries both and goes from there. As Robbo said, there's also the Galaxy S to consider as well.
And... breathe.![]()
That's really Apple's overall philosophy, "technology for idiots".A lot of people would struggle to do simple tasks like drag and drop music from a folder on their pc to the mobile device when it's plugged in. Whereas iTunes makes it easy for them.
The iTunes, App Store & iPhone combo enables people that are not tech savvy to be able to do lots, this is the mass appeal of the iPhone IMO, and why it still rules the roost overall.
Will anyone else be at the Arndale Apple store at 8am tomorrow morning?
It's taken me a bit longer than I wanted to organise and I won't get my iPhone 4 at launch unfortunately but I've ordered SIM free from Apple and signed up to a 12 month iPhone Simplicity contact with O2 - £15 per Month: 300 mins, Unlimited texts, Data and Wifi this will then revert to a rolling 30 day contract after the initial 12 months are up still at £15. Job Done!![]()
Vodafone have just rung me. They're phoning round now taking orders to whoever expressed interest.
If you're waiting for them I suggest you get on the phone NOW!
They will be shipping them tomorrow, for arrival on Friday.
I ordered a 32GB Black, £189 on the £45/m tariff (18mth)
I might be, I have the morning off work. It would be by far the most pathetic thing I have ever done in my life though lol. No I just can't see it happening, I might just pop in after work. Or maybe... I just don't know yet. I have one reserved anyway
I am definately not gonna stand in a HUGE queue. I would rather stroll about the arndale centre and pop into the other phone shops to see what offers they have on.
That's for sure, the iPhone 4 is a really nice specced phone I particularly like the touch to focus feature, it looks quite nice too, but it doesn't offer enough/anything over current/impending Android phones to justify the move from Android to iPhone OS.it's a definite improvement, i can see it selling by the bucket load
It looks like Apple may of underclocked the Iphone 4 so it would run cooler and increase battery life.
Tesco only do mobile sign up in selected stores for contracts afaik. The local one to me only has PAYG, the larger one a few miles away has a dedicated Tesco Mobile section.
Will Tesco actually be given an allocation ? They are just a virtual provider after all, the provisioning is done through O2 and we already know that the big operators are going to be on small stock allocations at launch anyway thanks to apple effectively stitching up the networks and conducting the only pre-allocation itself.
The interesting thing about this is if the apple stores are as awful as anticipated I wonder how many people will just walk to the nearest network store as most of the retail environments apple are in are also close to network stores. If that happens then I can see a lot of those reserved handsets going back to available come 9am on the 25th. Launch day +1 for anyone who missed out.
Looks like its going to be impossible for me to get one at 7pm ish on Thurs without a reservation![]()
