thats because J Cole is recovering from an injury, we dont know what formation we have yet it could be 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 or 4 -3 - 1 -2.

The fact that he's gone with Milner over SWP or Lennon makes me think that's the way we're setting up. Whenever we've played a 4-4-2 with Gerrard on the left, we've always had a Walcott, SWP or Lennon type player on the right.

So how is that midfield 4 going to work out? Barry on the left? Milner on the left and Gerrard right?

Either a flat 4 with Milner right and Gerrard left (could easily switch too) but more likely it will be some kind of 4-3-1-2 with Gerrard off the front.

If we are going the 4-3-1-2 route then having Barry and Milner doing the donkey work will allow both Johnson and Cole to bomb on. And tbh, they're probably better going forward than any of the wingers in the squad.
