Got this but it won't install - cannot save backup to SD. Not sure what that's about as I have nearly 3GB free. Will try again later with another SD.

Said that as well on mine and then installed it anyway?

Lucero, I've uninstalled SetCPU now as I didn't see much real world diference running it (and the OC profile) but having done that and install Quick System Info off the Market I notice that using the Sparta ROM the CPU is scaling to 1267MHz anyway:

So I don't think SetCPU is actually required for this ROM.

hmmmm, i followed it as far as I can tell, created the gold card got to the bit at the 'recovery' screen. Select the 'wipe data/factory reset' option, then select the option to 'Apply sdcard:update.zip

e:\failed to verify whole-file signature
e:\signature verification failed

any ideas?

edit think its failing before that point

Got mine yesterday, but not had much time to play yet, and have some questions .

1. What do I use scan those barcodes I keep seeing scattered about? (obviously a scanner app, but does it need to be any special google one?)

2. How do I do a full restart of the phone?

personally, i don't want an unfinished 2.2 rom, i just want a basic 2.1 with sense - but with a2sd.

just ordered a 16GB class 6 card. might get it by the weekend

erm, the file was called r6-desire-root or something, i got all the info from Pauls risk free thread at modaco?

When you do the update from SD card you need to have the ROM in the root of the SD card then run it.

So download the ROM you want to use now coz if you are on that screen you have rooted

hmmm it doesnt mention any of that in the guide lol, i thought it had to be rooted before you could flash a rom?
