Quick question....

I like many others will be picking up a reservation on the way into work tomorrow. Mine is a SIM-Free one.

Do I need to bring my laptop with me to work to activate it? As having a brand new iPhone sat on my desk saying "connect to iTunes" all day will be soooo annoying!

You will need to connect it to iTunes to register it.
 
the hardware on the iphone as most agree is pretty top notch, i think the camera is meant to be better than the desire, and the desire certainly does have some 'quirks' that just make you go 'wha...........?!' and it takes a loooong while to get used too, and i dont think i would like it without sense UI, have tried launcher pro and really dont like missing freind stream and email widget and stocks widget

i jailbroke my iphone 1g and never updated the software after because it was so complicated and hard to do, wanted the more open OS, thats something i dont feel i need to do with the desire

the iphone has better apps, a better store, better hardware [maybe], it just works out of the box and is easy to use, and looks nice too. its also a significantly better mp3 player and multimedia device, thats the thing i miss the most.. the sound quality, tho nothing amazing, way better than the desire [my biggest let down with the deisre infact]

i dont like the rigid OS, i REALLY dont like it, i hate how everything is white or pale blue, evry app that i can customize on my desire has a dark background with light text
i dont like how every icon is a square [yeah im big on UI look]
i dont like the molly coddled approach, i like to tinker.

id have gone iphone if htc hadnt done this amazing job with sense, and if the iphone wasnt so expensive

i am mega impressed with sense ui.. its the main reason i chose this model
 
Going in to buy the phone tomorrow sim free, I guess all I need is the cash to buy it and nothing else since I'm already with o2? I just want to confirm that Apple don't register the iPhone to each person or something like that so won't need loads of ID etc.

I just want to walk in, buy the phone and then walk out - go home, chop my sim up and activate it.

tesco is about the same remember once the 12 months is up your still going to need another 12 months of service to make it the same as the 24 month plans

when looking over the plans they all work out about the same yes some are cheaper then other but for the data and calls people want we are all going to be spending about the same money


unless 3 show up 2morrow with something very cheap
