Must be missing some thing...

Effective monthly cost on:

Voda - 53
O2 - 53
Tesco - 44

£9 a month saving...

It all cancels its self out really orange give you less data then voda for the same money but orange say its far use so going over one month nothing will really happen where as going over with voda will cost u for every mb

three will be cheaper but have worse signal

tesco look good as its only 12 month contract but the phone costs 80 more and after 12 months you need another contract to keep using the phone.

Why would you want to keep using the phone after 12 months? Surely the advantage of a 12 month contract is that it'll end just as the new iPhone is released and can therefore sell the iPhone 4 and use the money on the new one, signing up for a new contract at that point if desired.

It has to be Tesco. The only thing that puts me off is the 250 minutes on their £20 12 month contract. Would be nice to get a few more.

...and after 12 months you need another contract to keep using the phone.

Really? Not to sound like a tool but where does it say that?

I was considering going with Tesco but if its effectively a 24 month contract i'll reconsider

EDIT: Oh wait, I think I've misread the post. You don't have to take a Tesco contract out? You could go Sim Only with any carrier?

So does anyone know if the Tesco ones are locked to Tesco mobile network or are they open to o2 sims?

Would i be right in assuming the phone are all sim free, just certain carriers like 02 are seling them on contract only basis till later in july for pay and go to become available. I really can't see apple making different batches of phones locked or unlocked to different networks.

All this stuff about the white ones calls time on the dude who claimed to be getting a white one from orange tomorrow and then got himself suspended when we called shenanigans.

Sorry no you dont have to you could go sim only depending on the deal this could save you money but doing the math (at least for the way i use my phone) it works out the same money almost

and tesco lock there phones and will only unlock after 12 months i dont think o2 sims will work as there different operators tesco just rent the towers from o2

If I want to pick up a sim-free 16Gb Black from Bluewater tomorrow, what time do you think I'll need to start queueing?

Didn't get a micro-sim delivered from o2 today so it looks like I need to either trim my existing simplicity, after noting down that long number or go through a lot of hassle to visit an o2 store.
