Steam IS coming to OS X

Ok after the 10.6.4 and the steam patches (client and TF2 too) I have serious TF2 issues:
* no sound, it cuts out at the server list
* really bad frame speed
* network connections seem to take ages and always say server unavailable but given 5 minutes it'll connect.

I've set up the fire walls to allow steam access in both directions unhindered.

I have noticed that my framerate was due to the appalling rates that TF2 set automatically.

Do this;

cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
rate 25000
cl_lagerrorcheck 1

I do this and it seems to give me better frames.

P.S. The logo still looks weird, too small and squashed this time!

Agreed, What the heck have they done with it?!

Same old dock icon for me but when steam is running it changes to the new one.

Think I prefer the old one to be honest.

After a few tries and getting the "Steams to busy..." its downloading.

Just go to preferences and change your location to somewhere where its really late at night and you should get round the steam being too busy hopefully... (got about 20 mins to find out if those head buds are in this)

CS:S and TF2 run awful for me. Run much better under windows. Hopefully Valve are right and there is just something wrong with the 10.6.4 update.

TF2 played like a dream before the 10.6.4 update

Cant get cs to work at all, back to the old cant get an servers issue (which i think is router related but iv just not been bothered to sort it out yet)

Keep joining the OcUK game and getting kicked "unable to connect to VAC".... any ideas whats wrong? this is a clean OSX install with no mods (wouldnt know how too)
