Steam IS coming to OS X

Had a good session on TF2 last night, as good if not better than I remember. My prowess however appears to have taken a nose dive in my absence mind, is it me or is everyone a pyro or a scount these days? Also, what the hell is the deal with those poxy hats?
 
Fair enough, there is the TF2 folder (500mb) and three TF2.gcf files (20mb, 1.8gb and 3.8gb) ill just delete the lot of them. :) Fairly un-impressed the trial doesnt delete itself or at least prompt you after the trial runs out.
 
Anyone know if it's possible to move an existing install of FM 2010 into Steam? Would like to play it without the disc in but would rather not have to uninstall and re-install the game!

Unless they allow you register your Football Manager licence key in Steam you'll still need to the disc to play, even if you create a shortcut to the game in Steam.

Yeah, I tried manually adding a 'non-steam' game and it just created a shortcut.

I previously registered FM 2010 with steam when I was running Windows, so Steam for OSX gives me the option to 'install' the game (download it) - but it's already installed as standalone on this computer. What I was wondering was if it's possible to point Steam to the existing installation and have it recognise it as a Steam game (with license).

Go into your character loadout screen, then for each class you want to use them on (or all in my case), then you need to go into the 'misc' slot and select them.

Having said that, I've received an unprecedented amount of abuse for being a mac player this weekend.. always good to see the fanbois out.
 
Ok after the 10.6.4 and the steam patches (client and TF2 too) I have serious TF2 issues:
* no sound, it cuts out at the server list
* really bad frame speed
* network connections seem to take ages and always say server unavailable but given 5 minutes it'll connect.

I've set up the fire walls to allow steam access in both directions unhindered.
 
Wow! Just opened up steam and a new dock icon loaded up!! This one is so much nicer and fits in well with the other icons rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. Go get your new dock icon!!!! :D
