The screen is indeed amazing, very crisp and clear.
Cam quailty is also very clear, but as mentioned above, there is still an issue with light on the images.
Not tried the flash as yet.

Ohhhhh, there is a nice ****** zoom on the 5mp cam too

Fully star out swearing.
 
I came into the office today and we've got a couple in at work for testing, pretty impressed with the screen but apart from that it's not really different to my old 3GS. Certainly not the 'huge leap' Apple have hinted at.
 
Got mine at Orange Overgate in Dundee this morning, 32GB black. :D

Syncing now, but first impressions are omgliekwtfbbqamazing (Coming from an iPhone 3G which was really showing its age)
 
most certainly is an improvement on the 3GS,
Feel is better,
Look is better,
Cam is MILES better,
Battery life (Supposed to be) better,
E-Peen growth increase,
Seems to be much faster,


Down side, i am now stuck with 02 for another 18 Months, i was out of Contract back in November last year, Grrrrr.
 
do apple give micro-sims with their phones. Also, i'm on o2 and have one pre-ordered. My contract is due to end in September. Can i go into apple and upgrade early with the o2 £20 a month offer or do i have to do this on the phone first?

Yeah I came from a 2yo 3G and I immediately felt the difference, especially in speed of application launching and such.
 
Picked mine up this morning. The screen is as nice as everyone says. However....

This antenna/holding it right thing is worrying. It's starting to look like they pretty much all do it if you hold it with your left hand!

Also, I've moved to orange and am getting no mobile data. Any ideas?

Experiencing any screen or reception problems?
 
Just got home, this thing is gorgeous! I there were 16 phones and I was number 17, I hung around just in case someone couldn't buy but just as the guy before me started being served a guy came in with some orange and vodafone micro sims.

Gone on voda instead and quite pleased about that as o2 support has been dreadful.


What an event!

Actually you're wrong there. Back in 2002, MS concepted a device which was virtually identical to the current iPad. They just never produced it as they said there was no need for it, and back then, the cost of the finished product would have been out of most peoples budgets. Apple are far from pioneers

There is also the "Courier" from MS which makes the iPad look about 5 years old already

From that other link someone posted, regarding proximity sensor problem:

Got mine working. Went into settings , general and I reset all settings , now the proximity sensor is working when I take the phone away from my head. Good luck, hope it works for you too.

Like you said though 'they never produced it' so it counts for nothing... Apple had the kahoonas to make it though and having owned one for the last 2 weeks my laptop is gathering dust.

They are not pioneers, they take current tech and produce shiny things people want because they are pleasant to use and own, fair play!
