Another feather in Nvidia's Cap!

I haven't had a problem on 10.6, but then again I'm only on a 4850 and haven't had a chance to try BC2 on it yet. I haven't had many problems with ATI drivers tbh, infact I've had less driver problems on my 4850 then I did on my 8800gt before it.

I've had not a single problem with ATi.

This tbh. In fact, the story i like to bring up in these conversations involves problems with NVidia hardware/software. Doesnt mean I'll count them out as a manufacturer. There'll always be customers who have problems with the products, because quite simply neither company is perfect. The same goes for any industry.

Both companies, or rather both sides of the 'fanboy match', can claim feathers in their caps like in this example, but ultimately it's just not the reality of the situation.

EDIT: Would be really interested to get a source on what you're talking about Rroff. If true i'd be interested to learn more about the underlying issue :)

10.6 = BSOD for me with a premium ATI card. Not impressed! Back to 10.4's.

I've waited two months for these. I can wait that long, maybe ATI should do a two-three month turn over for drivers. I feel that these are rushed.

10.6 worked great for me until they were stuck on 400/1125 clocks (and they would clock memory back to 900 MHz when in Youtube, etc. as they were suppose to). Back to 10.4 now till they fix the issue.

That's not an issue, it's normal now if you overclock.

Just installed Win 7 on an SSD and I've never had such an easy install. Every driver went on fine inc the 10.6 ATI drivers and as usual I have no issues.

How are high idle clocks not an issue? I get what flash hardware acceleration does but want the PowerPlay to work as it's intended to.

Well if you overclock, that is how it is now, end of argument. I don't agree with it, but it's here to stay....
