*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Anyone got some funny stories? Some guy 50-60 years old pulled up about 5 to 8 and got a deck chair and his laptop out where I was.

still waiting here for UPS, tracking says its in transit but its on the van .............. getting ready from them to pull the "we attempted delivery but no one was home" card.

Any way of speeding up the activation process?

A lad at work who got his phone after me got his done hours ago and although mine has been switched off still hasn't activated :(

Also would me using the micro-sim that I got a few days ago and not the one o2 supplied me with this morning have any impact?

No Yellow spots or signal issues here. I've tried both hands covering too...

edit: I have the signal issue when surfing.

Yeh I doubt they'll turn up now :( had to wait in all bladdy day, I could have gone out...

What can they do really? They aren't going to recall millions of units. Maybe send out complimentary bumpers?
Or do you think they will just tell us to live with it and they release this 'software patch' that will make us think we dont have the issue.

You would accept being given a free bumper that isn't proven to help as a 'fix'?

If it is indeed a hardware fault Apple will have no choice but to replace the faulty handsets (the vast majority it would seem).

It would (just about already is) also be a PR disaster for them. Google and HTC must be having a good laugh right about now :p

Got a yellow spot but no signal issues, hoping the yellow spot with be gone by the weekend as it evaporates :)

OK I was having a problem with 3G on my iPhone with 3 but I get a full 3G signal now after a carrier update.

However I can't touch the outer metal ring before the signal drops! Seriously Apple, this is ridiculous!

I haven't got my SIM active yet (ARGH O2), but if mine has it and Apple don't do a fix/replacement (and I mean a fix, a bumper is a bodge!) it's going back. End of story.

Can anyone say how long the sim swap process takes?

Did mine this afternoon at 3pm and the old sim is still active and the new isn't?

I cant see apple replacing handsets as they would require a complete redesign to fully fix the problem...

True, they'd lose millions if they did.

I really like the design of the metal, but if it doesn't work it needs to be fixed or replaced.

Until then I'll not be buying one, and it's taken a lot of restraint not traveling to Northern Ireland to buy one today.

part of me is glad I've not got one now, the other still thinks I'd like one anyway as they have to do something to sort these issues out. Can't wait to hear when apple announce or what tbhey have to say about it.
