What ROM is that?

Is it possible can you just list a few benefits.

Thanks!

Thats annoyed me.
I did the update anyway, and its lost half my settings and my layouts!
It booted, showed my background, asked if i wanted to restore from the backup on the SD card, i said no because i saw the background, and now its disappeared and gone back to the stock layout! WTF!

And to top it off, it has indeed messed up the WiFi on the phone!:mad::mad::mad:

SetROM-RC5 Froyo FRF83 :)

Battery good
Theme great
and with my small amounts of apps its perfect :D

Might change the kernel later to a uvoc one to save more batt!

BoomAV, why didn't you just root it and flash a better ROM?

Would have saved the headache of this OTA and lose the branded guff.

Its already had a new rom on it to get rid of the orange stuff.
Im just redoing it now with a fresh new rom...

Which is the best rom to get at the moment then?

I have flashed my Desire with the 'CyanogenMOD 5.0.8 for Desire! w/ RM' ROM and all seems fine apart from the video camera and no market place...oh and you can't set widescreen in the normal camera menu.

i would just like to say i got a cheap battery for £6 all in from ebay, dodgy looking import, lasts almost as well as my bulk standard, as long as it does not melt the phone, great to carry around in the work laptop bag incase needs must

Totality was saying that when you selected someone in it, it would copy the info of the person into your phone as a contact for future use.

In 2.2 it doesn't copy them into your phone but you can still mail / call them, is pretty much the quick version.

Yup thats it in a nutshell! I use my personal phone with work email so didn't like the way address book lookups were performed in 2.1.

If only 2.2 on the Desire wasn't probably months away. Either way I've cancelled my Iphone 4 order and will wait to see what Android phones come out.

Hi guys, decided to upgrade to a desire from my 3gs and so far am really liking it. I have got a few apps but want to really start customising it. Are there any must have things to download and also any tips for conserving battery life currently it only lasts a day.

Try Juice Defender, Ultimate Juice and Juice Plotter. All three work to save battery. Defender and Ultimate are kinda the same thing ( you have to pay for some features, which are in Ultimate ) and Plotter shows you battery usage :)

K thanks I will check those out. I downloaded app killer but it doesn't seem to kill all the apps as some like Facebook are still there when I check what programs I have running

Hi guy's i've had my phone since monday and i've only downloaded a couple of small apps , now my phone is only showing 121 mb available phone space.

Is this correct ? o and it's at-mobile phone
also is there a way of deleting some of my scene's as ive got a few custom one's from playing about with it.

thanks :)

Yep, currently Android doesn't use the SD card as it's storage area, instead it uses the phones. Android 2.2 should be released soon for the Desire hopefully, which has the option of saving apps to sd ^_^

Not sure on your other question though o_O

Thanks for replying

i just checked and i'd deleted 1 of those, so does the phone only have 512mb before the OS is installed ?

If not i cant see where the other 391mb has gone

Ta to Danger for reminding and linking me about the kernel flashes. Updated to the undervolted overclocked kernel and now cpu scaling works as it should do. 1267MHz certainly helps as I'm seeing better responsiveness across the board and smoothness as well. Gallery3D especially is smooth now whereas before there were slight jitters when scrolling large directories of images.

So all in all my phone is running Pays Sparta 1.2 ROM, Apps2SD (512MB EXT3 partition), OC_UV v14 kernel (MCR_uvoc_v14-signed.zip if you're using Sparta or a stock based rom).

This kernel should also mean better battery life due to being undervolted but better performance due to the overclock.
