Played with my brothers 3GS, he put on the OS4 and compared to yesterday where i really didnt have much time to play with the iphone4...i have to admit the OS4 is pretty snappy even on the 3GS....pics are taken much faster and the multi tasking is pretty neat ie done the apple way which makes it slightly different to other mobile OS's multi tasking abilities.
He's suitably impressed...he wotn be upgrading till the next one which is next yr.
The screen is worth the upgrade aloneThat's the way I feel, if you're coming from an iPhone 3GS there isn't much point in upgrading, unless you really really want a better camera.

I came from a 3G though, and the difference is night and day, even with iOS4 on the 3G. The 3G runs like a dog these days.

Has anyone facetimed yet? I wanna try it but don't know anyone with a iphone 4 but me![]()
apples multitasking is different to other mobile OS's...because it isnt multi tasking
i do quite like the app switching tho, its not exactly hard on android but having a popup bar with customisable inclusion of progams you want to fast switch between (say sms, email, internet, music for my pref) would be a nice addition.
Are you going to China? If you're going over, why not buy it there? If anything they should have it in stock? I know the pound is really bad relatively speaking but I reckon it should still be cheaper over there?
I did manage to order a gift from the Australian apple store and got it sent to someone in Oz, although I had to lie about the billing address, as it has to be in Australia. It accepted it though and it was sent.
I have ordered a few things in the past though, so maybe my orders on there are 'accepted' as being legit.
LOL read what i put...i said its apples way of multi tasking which is different to other mobile OS's when they do multi tasking
...whether its true multi tasking or not is besides the point...the point being is that its what apple deems as multi tasking.
which ISNT multi tasking as the industry defines it lol, read what i said next time![]()
No. I am buying here and shipping to China. No release date is confirmed for China and he cannot get it. I just wanna know if I go into an Apple store, can I walk out with one?

Depends how lucky you are really, best best is to turn up early in the morning, I think they get deliveries first thing. Or register yourself for the priority thing.
They ran out on Thursday(launch day) towards the end of the day. Registered for the priorty thing so they let you know when your allocated unit turns up. Told me to try tomorrow morning seeing I was gonna be in town early.
Had a eye check up Friday 8.15, walked to the Apple shop about 9am. Very quiet, very civilised from the day before from what the lady told me. First one there tbh, although they still asked me to join the outside queueing line. Picked up 2x32gb.
Job done.
Maybe I was lucky, but it seems pretty much the initial surge is over?
